Color:Onyx Product Description Start with a high-tensile micro-tubular frame to support the i-AMP™ optical lens platform. Add internal hinges with non-visible hinge stops and precision injected polymer temples for unparalleled user fit. Finish with a slightly wrapped split lens for the perfect balance of moisture retention and venting. From the Manufacturer Your eyes are tired...staring at a computer for hours and hours takes its toll. The common solutions for handling eyestrain require you to modify your work habits or take numerous breaks throughout the day. They're all patchy fixes that pull you away from your work. So take your choice...digital eye fatigue or less productivity. There is a better technology driven solution that works with and enhances properties of the human eye. Gunnar digital eyewear increases visual performance, prevents Digital Eye Fatigue (DEF) and protects against full-blown Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). It all begins with i-AMP lens technology -- an optical platform that incorporates proprietary lens materials, lens tints, lens coatings, and lens geometry. Gunnar digital performance eyewear is engineered for an immediate and profound visual advantage and now even the most demanding computer users are more productive and more effective for longer periods of time. Gunnar Digital Performance Eyewear -- the must have digital performance equipment for your digital lifestyle. Sphere Halogen Start with a high-tensile micro-tubular frame to support the i-AMPTM optical lens platform. Add internal hinges with non-visible hinge stops and precision injected polymer temples for unparalleled user fit. Finish with a highly wrapped split-lens for the perfect balance of moisture retention and venting. i-FI lens coatings i-Fi lens coatings filter and protect. Our proprietary nano-filters help capture all of the good light coming from the computer screen while diffusing the bad reflective light and glare. The outer coating provides a protective layer that shields the lens from scratching, abrasion, and oxidation damage. fRACTYL lens geometry Computer generated fRACTYL lens geometry mimics nature through advanced science and engineering. Aiding the natural focusing power of the cornea, our lens geometry eases eyestrain caused by near distance computer viewing. fRACTYL lens geometry uses independently curved front and back surfaces to provide unparalleled distortion-free optics. Fused with Gunnar frames, the tightly arced lenses form a personal ocular microclimate that prevents dry eyes. iONik lens tints iONik lens tints take harsh artificial light and precisely tune it to match the anatomy of the eye. Our custom organic dye compounds condition and shift transmitted light into the preferred color spectrum, increasing visual contrast, detail and resolution. Edges of screen pixilated images read more easily and interfering blue light is reduced -- ultimately your eyes are less fatigued. diAMIX lens material No existing lens material had all the properties we needed. So we gave our lab techs the task of developing the lightest, most optically pure lens material possible. Beating out polycarbonate on the toughness scale and rivaling the undisputed optics of ground glass, diAMIX is the next generation of lens materials for those that demand the highest optical qualities.

I wanted them to be good for me
I have been using computers since I was about 10 years old(im 21). When I game or work on HW for hours and hours my eyes get tired after a long time. I was hoping these would help this issue but unfortunately they did the opposite for me. I put these glasses on and started a gaming session and after only a couple hours my eyes were practically bleeding because these were not helping my eyes at all. I continued to use them the next day and I was still getting the same results. So I returned them and do not plan on trying them ever again.BTW I have tried several different pairs of gunnars before these for example the PPKs and I got to say those are so flimsy and crappy. Not to mention they are made for such a small head. The Halogens are the biggest size they make IMO and these actually fit my head. They are well built glasses and have a nice quality to them (the halogens anyways). If these fix your problems then more power to you but they do not work for me.

Now Sphere This!
They took me about a week to fully adjust to, and when I take them off I realize the benefit of wearing them. The cold-cutting and harsh blueish-whites would still be attacking my eyes if not for the amber tint of these optics. I still feel the need to rub my eyes from time-to-time (usually associated with stretching and yawning, but not necessarily going to the bathroom), but the pain and strain from hours of starring is gone, as are itching and redness. Now my eyes are only tired when the rest of my body is tired as well. I find my eyes are able to endure longer than the rest of me, perhaps now I need a new chair, as well as diet and exercise. One final thought: these will make you look like a geek. For me, that's good in most situations.

Definitely worth the money
After three weeks of having owning the Gunnar Halogen's, I must say the price for the glasses are definitely worth every penny. After about 30 minutes of wearing them I noticed a difference when looking at my monitor and cell phone. Did take some time to get used to seeing some stuff in a yellow tint but after a wearing a bit you get used to. When taking off the glasses you really do notice the harsh blue light coming off today's devices. I also do lot of gaming which means staring at a monitor for about 10-15 hours a day. Wearing these glasses has been great. No headaches before bed, no more bloodshot eyes, eye strain and fatigue are minimal. The frames are pretty decent built. They feel plastic but tough. I like the ash color myself. Doesn't stand out too and compliments the skin. Only small thing I would like to see in the future of Gunnar glasses would be something similar to transition lenses, from yellow to black for instant sunglasses.

I look like a tool, but my eyes stopped bleeding
Graphic design and video games were causing my eyes to turn red like lord satan. Drops would help, but the strain wouldn't go away.PROS: Gunnars work, as long as you're only staring at the computer screen. You'll start to feel light-headed if you look away. Super light frames, wear them for hours and forget they're on...until someone makes a comment.CONS: Douche central styling. Be prepared for comments like "what's it like in the matrix?" and "are you really the 3rd member of Daft Punk?" I considered spray painting the rims black, but, ya know, I am the third member of Daft Punk. Deal with it.

Great product but arrived dirty
These are my second Gunnar Optiks and I couldn't be more happy with my purchases. When I opened up the box I noticed immediately that the glasses were very dirty as if someone had handled them with his fingers and left fingerprints all over the glass itself. The cloth that came with it did not at all clean them as I would have thought and I had to use a certifed lens cloth to do the work. It baffles me that a product of this magnitude would arrive to customers in this condition. From what I've read on Amazon my case is not a single case.On the positive side these glasses to amazing things when I'm playing video games on my XBOX360. I sometimes play over eight hours a day and work on my desktop at the same time. My eyes are less tired, the glasses raise my color spectrum and when playing games that require quick response time I can see the difference right away. The reason this is my second pair of Gunnars is because the first one I got which is the MLG Esport series were to tight around my nose bridge. This pair covers my entire field of vision which is something I would recommend to people who spend long hours in front of the monitor/tv.

Never leave home without them!
I was sceptical at first, but after a period where I was getting repeated eye strain and headaches after only one hour looking at a terminal, I knew I had to start doing something.Nevertheless, I bought a pair of gunnar's, and they did not dissapoint. The headaches are gone, and I never leave the house without them. Having such great material, I almost wish the company manufactured computer screen-covers made of this material which for those of us not requiring a prescription, would be very handy). For those who do wear prescription eyewear, it would mean you would still wear said eyewear : )Good value, and highly recommended for anyone having to work with computers for long periods at a time.
