Drill press spring return that actually fits.
This is a return spring and cap for a mid size drill press. I used this on a 1979 year, o.i.t. brand, made in Taiwan. I ordered the 2.5 inch size. It is the perfect fit for my drill.. installed in about 60 seconds and it works like it should. Perfect fit.Just don't run the jam nuts up tight against the spring holder cap. Do jam the nuts together but not tight against the assembly.I am very happy with the seller and his part.

These springs were what they stated in the catalog. They arrived fast and would recommend it to others in our wood shop.

GREAT OPTION FOR MANUFACTURER THAT DISCONTINUED PART
The return spring was easy to install and fit my Craftsman 15 inch drill press perfectly. Sears discontinued stocking this part as they seem to do quite often to force you to buy a new tool. It is nice to have an after market option. So far it works great and there are no problems.

Be careful.
Well made but no help from their customer service. It did not fit my drill press and after I didn’t get any help I figured it was a learning exercise to be more careful when ordering online. Stock thickness isn’t listed and customer service didn’t respond but my calipers have it a little thicker then .75 mm

Doesn't Work On An Orbit 1758F Drill Press
Unfortunately, it didn't fit my 30 year old Orbit 1758F Drill Press. Orbit was a subcategory of Jet thirty years ago.Update-if anyone has an old Jet drill press (Orbit) there is a quill spring available through Jet. For my 1758F, 16.5", it is the spring used on their JDP-17MF, part# 10605002A1. Cost about $39 with shipping. Also, there are now springs available on Amazon that should fit, i.e 53mm (O.D.), 8mm (width) x .8mm (thickness.

Works great on my Delta 17-901 Drill Press
While this 2 1/2" cap isn't a perfect match for the original 2 3/8" cap on my Delta 17-901, it does fit and works without any modification. This is great because Delta has discontinued the original part and I've had a hard time finding one with a 2 3/8" cap.

exactly what I needed
I was given a 30 year old delta knockoff and one day the quill spring snapped. I went to a local repair shop and they couldn't find the part. Fortunately,I was able to find one here, and the price and service were excellent. Installation took 5 minutes, and the press is back up and running. I may order a second as backup.
