Firestone 9284 Air Compressor, 12 Volts

This 14 amp replaced my18 amp Firestone compressor and does the job at 2/3 size. It has a 6 minute duty cycle which fills my 3 gallon tank in 4 mins. Good fix for my GMC MH air ride system for $60.00. Replacement models are upwards of $250. Caution, the compressor head and fittings get hot during use as stated in literature.

This compact 12V compressor is the fastest motor useable for FRC (1.1 CFM). Furthermore it's a lightweight, sub $100 compressor. It has a ~50% faster fill speed and a 66% better duty cycle than the low powered one that comes in the FIRST rookie kit of parts. There are 12v compressors with even better duty cycles, but they also are larger, weigh significantly more and draw more current. So I highly recommend this if you're in FRC robotics.

This compressor did work but however it did not last long. By checking back with seller we come to an agreement and the seller sent the correct one. It now works great.

Plumbing was easy

This is a small compact air compressor, BUT, it puts out a lot of CFM's and does it quickly. I use this compressor for my Firestone Ride Rite airbags on my Nissan Frontier. It will inflate my bags from 0 psi to 50 psi in about 20 seconds. The best thing is you DONT need to have a separate air tank. I mounted this compressor under my rear seat. I do recommend this mighty little compressor! CPS

Holes did not match old one, but drilled new holes and so far works great

I bought this to replace one on my truck to run my air bags and train horns. I run a 3 gallon air tank and it fills it in about 3 minutes. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with the intake air hose they promise so I’ll have to go get one. I also added a pressure switch like my other one had. Other than that it’s small and compact, gets the job done,however it loader than usual.

Great compressor. Does exactly what I needed it to do. Showed up on time too. Update. The instructions say there is supposed to be a small section of airline included for the air intake. No airline was shipped. Left me in a tight spot and had to buy some extra line

Great unit for what it is design for, but the intake chamber has a poor gasket. My old one seized so I took it apart to find out way. I found the gasket that is on the intake side had failed. It had been pulled it the chamber and was letting unfiltered air in. This caused the unit ti seize. After soaking for a few hours in diesel it started to work. I order a new one but will run the old working and the new one for a spare.

Everything worked out perfect !
