Outdoor Wi-Fi Box
Pros: - Durable metal housing with a secure, positive-locking metal latch - UL Listed for safety and compliance - Audible, solid relay click provides clear operational feedback - Straightforward programming when following the provided instructions - Flexible scheduling options, including sunrise/sunset settings and time synchronization - Simple wiring and setup process when instructions are properly followed Cons: - No significant drawbacks; however, additional mounting tabs on the lower portion of the enclosure would enhance installation flexibility Overall Impression: This is a well-designed, dual-channel programmable relay that performs reliably. I'm using it to control exterior lighting, and it has exceeded expectations in both functionality and ease of use.

Doesn't work - tried 2 units and cannot even get wifi to connect...
***update 8/8/2020*** After struggling to get 2 different units working, I purchased a GE unit (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YTCZZF0/) and swapped it in place of the Dewinwils unit. No change to the wiring at all. As soon as the GE unit kicked on I was immediately able to connect it to my SmartThings hub, and had instant control over the device. The GE unit is considerably more money, but let me tell you this - it worked right out of the box, no fuss. The Dewinwils unit doesn't look ready for prime time. To be fair, they finally did reach out to me by email, but the entire troubleshooting regimen they prescribed I had already done exhaustively myself. I weighed out the benefits too - even if through exhaustive troubleshooting they were able to make it work, how often would I have to mess with it in the future to keep it running. No thanks guys. Please work on the out-of-the-box experience, so many people in the reviews here complain of having to vigorously troubleshoot to get and keep their units running, that isn't going to fly - especially for a device to enable automation! We want this stuff to work every time! I'm usually very patient when it comes to electrical wiring projects like this, but this one has me ready to give up. I ordered this item to power my pool pump, which is a Hayward 1 horsepower 120 volt pump. By all means this unit checks all the boxes I'm looking for in a pool timer, I just cannot get it to work. The wiring for this thing is simple enough, and I don't think there is anything wrong with my wiring connections. As soon as I apply power to the device, the Wi-Fi light starts flashing and I attempt to connect my cell phone to it to begin setup. As soon as I establish the initial connection the Wi-Fi light goes out, and my phone drops the connection immediately. Afterwards the Wi-Fi light will come on and stay on solid, and then it will begin flashing and then it will go out and it keeps doing this over and over and over again. I cannot maintain a connection to this device for more than a second or two, so I can never complete the setup. The manual power button will work to turn the pump on only when the Wi-Fi light begins flashing. Within seconds the Wi-Fi light turns off, the pump will run for about 5 Seconds and then shuts off. I can turn the pump on with the manual power button anytime the Wi-Fi light is flashing, but when the Wi-Fi light is solid or when the Wi-Fi light is off the manual power button does nothing. I'm frustrated and cannot seem to figure this thing out at all. I emailed support but they haven't responded to me in days. I want this thing to work, but I am losing hope. If I can't figure it out in a day or two I'm putting it back in the box and sending it back.

This time makes life much more convenient!
This timer works as advertised & I would it 5 stars for performance. We use it to turn our pool pump filter on & off everyday, and I really LIKE that we can have the app on our phones for convenience, so that we can turn it off no matter where we are, if we know there's a big storm coming. We also use this timer if we have a lot of people in the pool. We can set a countdown timer, which is helpful, to run it for a few more hours than our normal settings, which is on about 9 am & off about 5 pm. The electricians who wired it to our fusebox, liked it so much that they said they would be recommending it to other customers of theirs who will be installing pools. The only issue, whatsoever is the initial setup. I was having trouble with my iPhone, however, my wife has an android, Pixel 7, and I tried on her phone when I was about ready to give up & it was super easy to set up on her phone. Once it was on her phone, it was then very easy to set up on my iPhone. I did email support a couple of times, but it seemed as though they were not comfortable with English & any communication was very frustrating. That said, someone created a great product here! I do highly recommend it!

Fantastic functionality, app needs improvement
For timing a pool pump or hot water heater this arguably the best unit on the market, especially for the money. It has a lot of functionality and flexibility and is weatherproof thanks to it being enclosed in a metal box that can be tightly shut.. The hardware is extremely simple, having just two buttons, a power button for manually powering on or off the device hooked up to it, and a reset button. It can power/time any device requiring from 120 volts to 277 volts. Setting schedules is done through an app. The app is NOT intuitive and takes a little getting used to, but it DOES work -- things are not obvious. For example, the first step in setting any start and stop time is to "Choose Timer" among a list different "timers" ("Programmable Timer", "Countdown timer", "Astronomic Timer", "Holiday Random", and "Security Random"). The user isn't really choosing a timer but rather choosing what type of timing they want to program, like an on-off schedule, a countdown ... I suspect English is not the first language of the app's designer (note the "random" choices are likely here if the timer is powering lights). Another nice feature -- the app will talk to the device over LOCAL Wifi OR the cloud. The user has the option to create an account and control the device across the Internet, but using their cloud feature is not required as you can simply control the device using the app locally, so long as your phone or tablet is on the same network as the device.

Multiple options for different power but the manual is easy to read and understand, also installation is easy and app works fine. No problems so far

I installed this device as a second safeguard in case I forget to turn off my well pump when I leave my cottage. I have at times forget to turn off the pump before I leave. This way I can be assured the pump is in fact off from home. Has a handy push button to turn it on and off even without WiFi with a red indicator to show if it is on and a blue indicator to show WiFi is on this switch will handle a 1/2hp 220v deep well pump. The cost of this switch is less than a trip back to my cottage to turn the water off. I can also use it to turn on the water remotely if a friend or family member goes there while I am not there. I get frequent power outages and knock on wood so far this device has never needed reprogramming which is more than I can say for many other WiFi devices. The steel case is well made and apparently can be used outside. Although I have it mounted in my utility room inside. A good addition for peace of mind

I have this product outside in the rain/snow/ice for more than a year and the product look like new. Work great with the wifi (be sure to have wifi signal outside before installing the unit !) inside and outside. I have many of this unit installed inside and outside and no problem. Make sure to close the box after manually turned on or off the unit and it will stay dry even in big storm. p.s. Make sure to test your wifi signal with your phone where you want to install this unit before doing the job done. this unit will not create wifi so test it first !
