You get what you pay for. I never understood people that would risk burning their entire house down by either not using a holder at all (letting stick hang at the end of a table - sometimes over carpet...) or getting the cheapest piece of trash to hold their incense that isn't even balanced to begin with. Get this and be safe. It's solid metal and has a cool design to it. Definitely catches ashes and I like how there are various holes to fit sticks of different diameters.

All 4 of these are useful in their own ways. I like the cylindet with holes bired in it the most (by far - we burn a lot of japanese incense, and the stubs fall rigjt through the holes), but the snail is pretty fun and, while I don’t use coil incense, the other two clearly would do the job very well. Solid construction, they look great, and they are very reasonably priced. If you’rs looking for something that can handle stick (japanese and indian) as well as coil incense, these are excellent.

Having three different sized holes is a nice feature and is needed since the disc is not very thick and must firmly hold the stick. I am using the middle sized holes and they hold the stick tightly. Also, the holes are perfectly round and uniform in size. Both pieces seem to be metal and have some weight to them but I can not tell what type of metal they are made from. The figures are well cast in good relief and artfully done.

Arrived in a timely fashion as promised and I have a suggestion . One other reviewer mentioned the sticks were too tall and the ash was not captured within the tray area and this is true , so a very simple solution . First make sure you are using the correct sized hole so your stick stands straight up then using my toe nail clippers I cut away the stick just leaving about 1/4 of an inch and Voila ! Success all the ash is now captured on the tray . Be sure to adjust the position of your holder so the incense stick is dead center . Different sized holes require minor adjustments to make this happen . Enjoy .

This is a 5 star review for this as a cone incense burner. 4 stars for sticks.It's just not wide enough for sticks, the ash falls outside of the plate.For cone incense, it's great. It's a very very attractive plate.

Did not hold the large Japanese incense I have only holds the morning star thickness. Doesn’t lay flat in middle without incense falling outside of tray. New to adjust where u put the middle piece so that doesn’t happen. Otherwise very sturdy and nice compared to others I have purchased.

I really like this set - the round piece can hold three sizes of sticks and they fit well. There's space that I can put a cone on the plate with the stick holder or without. I took away one star because the plate needs to be about an inch bigger to catch all the ash of long Indian-style stick incense.
