Loukanika (4.5 Ounce)

Meh. I bought this because it got a good review in a food blog. I have a pretty good palate and can pick up on subtle flavors, but this was just bland. Not particularly meaty tasting, no ethic notes in the seasoning. It didn't taste offensive, but it wasn't good enough to want a second piece. The only reason I gave it a second BITE was to give it another chance. I served it to guests and no one liked it. Most of it went in the garbage.

I haven't bought Loukanika online, only at specialty stores or at Olympic Provisions brick & mortar in Portland — but I can tell you that it is incredible. I disagree absolutely with the one other review posted. After trying this on a salumi plate I asked the server what it was. It took me a year to track it down based on their mispronunciation of it — but now that I've found it again, I purchase it on a regular basis. It is Delicious. It can get a bit difficult to slice — but the flavor is unique in a very palatable way. At a recent holiday party I threw, it was gone in the first half hour.

Purchased this at our local market and it’s one of the best salamis I’ve ever had! Perfect addition to any meat and cheese platter!
