Know Your Bible: All 66 Books Explained (Value Books) Review: Easy to read and understand - This is one of the best ways to understanding the Bible. It’s simple and easy to read. I definitely recommend! Review: WONDERFUL little study book for Christians.. - I am reviewing this book because it doesn't make sense not to.... If that makes sense ... ?? This book has been around for about seven or eight years (more or less..). In that time it has sold a bunch of copies (millions..??). That means that it has been fairly well received. There is a reason for that..... This book is short, clean, and concise. It tells exactly the same thing about each book of the Bible starting with Genesis and ending with Revelation. There are 1-2 pages dedicated to each book of the Bible. Each book entry follows the same format of seven specific topic reference points. Author: Date: In Ten Words or Less: Details, Please: Quotable: Unique and Unusual: So What?: Since all of this information is contained on 1-2 pages, it stands to reason that each book entry has precious little detail. That is exactly what the author intended, and exactly what he accomplished. In each of the seven points there is something specific and unique about that particular book of the Bible. For example: In 1 and 2 Kings we find the following statements under the heading of "In Ten Words or Less" 1 Kings: "Israel divides into rival northern and southern nations". And in 2 Kings we find: "Both Jewish nations are destroyed for their disobedience to God." Later, in the New Testament entries, we find in the book of 2 Timothy: "The apostle Paul's final words to a beloved co-worker." The same type of entries are present for every book of the Bible. It is hard to imagine that much of anything useful could be contained in a small book of 95 total pages that would shed any light on a book so profound as the Bible. Yet, this effort deserves a place in the study works of Christians everywhere. It is not complete. It does not tell the stories. It does not offer the spiritual guidance. What it does is stimulate the desire for more. It gives you a jumping off place for further study. It gives you a quick look at the "Who" and "Why" and "Where" of each book of the Bible and allows you to quickly determine if your question's answer might be present in that book. It is not the study material itself, but rather an outline for you to fill in. I find it immensely useful as a primer for showing/teaching others about the Bible, and as a quick refresher when my mind needs it. Unless you have a photographic memory or are blessed with fabulous mnemonic help, you will find this little book to be a very useful partner in your study. Recommended.

Concise and very well done
This is a small book and you can read it in a couple of hours, so you can't expect ti to equal the Bible - however, the author has accomplished what he set out to accomplish and in that sense it is very well done. For each of the 66 books of the Bible, the author has quoted the author, the date when it was approximately written, summary of that book in 10 words or less. He then shared details in a paragraph or two, followed by quotable quotes, what's unique and unusual, and ultimately the moral lesson, under the heading "So what?"" that book attempts to convey. At the beginning of the book, the author writes, the ultimate message of the whole Bible is that God loves you. "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God ... God is love. (1 John 4:7-8) Quotable Quotes: "God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." (Exodus, 3:14) "Ye shall be holy, for I (god) am holy. " (Leviticus 11:44) "The Lord is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression." (Numbers 14:18) "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is One Lord.' (Deuteronomy 6:4) "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." (Deuteronomy 6:5) "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." (Deuteronomy 8:3) "Be strong and of a good courage, be not afraid, neither be though dismayed, for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." (Joshua 1:9) "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Psalms 51:10) "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding." (Proverbs 3:5) "The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty: he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy. (3:17) "Ye are the light of the world." (Matthew 5:14) "Ye shall receive power, after the Holy Ghost is come upon you." (Acts 1:8) "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance." (Gal. 5:22) "Worry about nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (4:6) "Pray without ceasing." (1 Thess5:17) "f any would not work, neither should he eat." (2 Thess 3:10) "True believers, Jude says, reflect God's love and show compassion." (Jude 1:23) So what? Troubles that people experience as punishment are not intended to hurt people but to bring them back to God, to urge them to return to Love. (2 Chronicles) Trouble isn't necessary a sign of sin in a person's life. It may be something God allows to draw us closer to Him. (Job) When we find ourselves in bad situations, it may be so we can accomplish something good - like Esther did. (Ester) "God loves everyone - even the enemies of his chosen people" (Jonah)

The Holy Bible “assumes” God’s existence, really!?
I have to admit I was taken aback a little in your “Details, Please” comment of the first book, Genesis, where you state that “The Bible’s first book never explains God, it simply assumes His existence, really(?) This collection of books, the Holy Bible, beginning with Genesis IS GOD’s WORD, a written testimony of His existence. If you read the Bible you will get a perfect understanding of who He is, beginning with the first sentence in Genesis; “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” God is beyond our understanding. Further, read in Isaiah, Job, Deuteronomy, Psalm, Proverbs, Romans, 1 Corinthians and Ecclesiastes for a better understanding of our God. Read your Bible first, then use this booklet as a general summary and nothing more.
