The best simple Wi-Fi thermostat available. But why did I need to calibrate?
I bought two units, both were extremely off out of the box - by four degrees - as verified by my old thermostat and two other thermometers. I found the calibration instructions online and I was able to offset it by four. Now I am very happy with these. They are super simple and small. They work reliably and the app is decent enough. Love the simple look and silent operation! No beeping, no clicking, nothing. Works very well with Google Assistant. The local API was a huge sell here. It's nice knowing that they can work indefinitely because of that. I'm not aware of any other Wi-Fi thermostat that offers that incredibly consumer friendly aspect.

User friendly
I had purchased the SENSI thermostat and was tired of trying to keep it working. This VENSTAR is simple to figure out and has yet to cause me any issues. I am very very happy with this purchase and was much cheaper than than most that worked with Alexa... I would for sure recommend this VENSTAR thermostat.

Works Great and it has a local API
The thermostat gives me all the features I need and the best part is it has a local API in addition to a cloud interface. Venstar customer support is 5 stars as well.

Difficult to use, very poor software
To call this product bare-bones is unjustifiably kind. This product is so hard to use that once you have trained yourself to use its Byzantine user interface, I would advise that you take careful step-by-step notes on performing basic procedures and keep them at hand.Particularly difficult are switching between "Home" and "Away" schedules and programming a day's schedule. These might be uncommon activities for some, but for me they're routine. The awkwardness of doing them with the T2000 is a genuine barrier to bringing the rest of my family on board with using the device. As an added feature, the unit cannot be controlled (other than directly by its three push buttons) if our internet connection fails. Note that you WiFi connection and home network is fine but weather or other calamity has crippled your internet access. If this happens, your back in the days of the Honeywell mechanical 'stat!Truly a poorly thought out, badly designed product.
