Don't know why some people thought this was hard to use, it's very simple, even adding users with full access or read only access. Full instructions are provided.This is a backup for my NAS, documents and photos and the encryption does not really slowdown the data transfer rate in a really noticeable way. It's a mechanical hard disk, so you are not going to get SSD speeds.Very happy with the drive and the added security.

I purchased the DT2 256-bit 2TB to move away from cloud backups due to security concerns. After thorough research, this product stood out positively. Upon arrival, I eagerly set it up, which was my first mistake. For anyone considering this device, please read the instructions carefully, multiple times if needed.You get five attempts to set up before it locks you out, thinking it’s a brute-force attack. I got it wrong 15 times, leading to the hard drive formatting itself. Thankfully, the support team was excellent and helped resolve my issues through a few emails.Now that it’s working, the device is robust and seems to be of good quality. However, if you’re not familiar with PCs and laptops, this device can be challenging to set up without reading the manual thoroughly.Bottom line: The problem wasn’t the device; it was my failure to read the instructions. If you’re tech-savvy, this is a great product. If not, proceed with caution.

Not fit for purpose and doesn’t match product description - did not work on 3 devices. Amazon delay tactics in issuing refund are self evident.
