BarcaLounger Charleston Recliner - Burgundy

Bigger than it looks if placed in a moderate sized room along with a leather couch. However, it is comfortable, seems well-made and completes our small den/media room. Wish it wasn't made in China, but it is what it is. The Charleston Burgundy we received is a tad darker than pictured, more of a dark cordovan. But that's fine - better a bit more brownish than more reddish. Assembly was straightforward: 4 legs screw on and then the back (it arrived in two sections) snaps down into place over metal struts on either side. The back lower skirting is held down by a Velcro strip. I'd likely give it 5 stars but for the fact that one of the wood feet is has a crack that might/might not get worse with age. I was able to turn that cracked side so it doesn't show but still. The material does seem to be leather. It reclines to a comfortable position for the legs/feet and backside/back, which is what matter as much as the looks of any chair. Delivery was quick, but they dumped the box on our driveway at a garage door that's at street level where anyone could walk up and take it. It would've been better to simply ring the doorbell. It's not as if it was all that heavy or I expected them to carry it inside. The box had been banged around pretty well and split on two sides, but everything inside was okay and all parts were there.

We bought two of these chairs in burgundy September 2017. We received the chairs in timely manner. They were easy to assemble. However, we received one burgundy and one black chair. We decided it would not be worth the hassle or wait to replace the chair with another burgundy one and it wasn't such a clash with any of our other furniture. So we kept the black chair. One year later the black chair "leather" upholstery is separating at the head and legs. This chair is described as "high-quality top-grain leather." I sincerely don't think that is true. I feel ripped off now because I paid $609.07 for each chair (total $1,218.14). The burgundy chair is fine; no upholstery separation. I'm wondering if they sent this faulty chair just to fill the order. We honestly thought it was the same chair. The last three photos show the chair two years later and the real leather chair that’s still beautiful.

Nice chair. Delivery was great. Came earlier than expected. However, I do not consider the color to be burgundy. It is more like chocolate brown. My room theme is Americana so chocolate brown does not exactly match. The chair sits up high which has positives and negatives. You certainly do not sink into it. It is more firm than that. BUT now I can see the TV over the back of the couch. It also does not recliner as far as my feet being elevated. They are more like level. Harder to sleep. The back is not that high either. I am fairly short (5'2") but my head is all the way to the top. Ok for me, but not so great for taller people.

We are very impressed! We are both tall, my husband is 6'3" and I am 5'10", the chairs fit us fine and are extremely comfortable. The leather is soft and the overall chair is of great quality. The picture is true to the color of the leather. First time we have ever bought furniture without seeing it in person. Really pleased with the process.

Delivered early in well packed boxes. Most comfortable recliner I ever tried. Simple one-step assembly of back to seat I bought a matching pair and they look great in our living room.

High quality build. Comfortable. Easy to assemble. Perfect size (compact). Excellent price. I would buy again and recommend to friend.

I can't get the children off it. They all love it. The leather is nice, the foam thick, but I can feel the farm through it.The packaging was terrible, with a few bits of glue on the chair from construction. If you're 250+lbs, then buy a different chair.
