Old Fashioned Horse Measuring Walking Stick Cane

I'm not sure where these were found that the seller is able to have enough to sell a lot of them. This is a vintage measuring cane. I always thought they were neat and always wanted one.I purchased it knowing that being vintage it may not be as functional as I wanted. I can use it, I just have to be careful when I do so, especially since I don't have a solid floor to use. I was really hoping it would be functional as well as a conversation starter, however I really don't feel comfortable using it with my younger horses, which is who I really need it for.I love my measuring cane. It's unique, it can be used effectively I just choose not to. It will continue to be a treasure.I have recently been able to find the modern measuring sticks and have ordered one since it'll be more effective for my squirrelly youngsters. I won't be retiring it any time soon. I'm thinking of getting a cane tip for it and using it as a walking cane.A wonderful find.

Refurbished, and obviously used - probably has lots of stories to tell. Mine came with a glass level that's obviously a replacement since I'm sure the original was broken or missing. If you're looking to add something charming to your barn, this is a great item! If you're looking for something new and unused, get something else.

The numbers are so hard to read. Even with glasses you can hardly see them.

The price

Very old, no indication it was used on the Amazon ad. Was sticky to the touch until I wiped it off. The numbers were worn off, so you couldn‘t read them. The little level on it was missing. Not useful for a horse measuring stick, which is what it was intended for, and why I bought it.

Very cool, fun measuring stick in a cane. My first one came with a broken bubble in the level and I had a very quick response from the seller and a quick replacement. Good experience.

Product damaged, due to description being vague on shipping docket customs had opened and inspected, damage to measure rod within cane.

my husband takes his "cane" to all the horse shows and barns. People love to have the horses height taken. Good conversation starter.
