This product is heavier than expected but I guess it's one's responsibility to look closely at the weight. My two-star rating is based more on the fact that the mechanism for the padlock is very stubborn. It takes much longer to lock and unlock than I care for it to take. And as you can see from the pictures one of the metal reinforcements that keeps the chain from sliding completely out of the sack to one side has already come off after two weeks. And one of the seams has already started to come undone. Also, the buckle used has much bigger holes for the strap to go through than necessary, which makes the strap slide off easily. I had to sew the slack to the strap the goes around the waist to keep it from falling off.I don't know if this is a knock off but if it isn't, the chain is not at what it's cracked up to be.

I'm sad, i really wanted to like this. Unfortunately cheap Asian labor has made this a useless piece of junk. The lock itself does not need a key to turn, I can lock it and unlock it by using my finger nail in place of a key, no need for a key, no joke, the mechanism turns without the use of a key, just something that will provide leverage to turn. the buckle has been designed wrong and the strap has been threaded incorrectly on to it and does not stay tight on your waist, in order to fix this you have to rip out the threading and readjust it. The welds in the weak spot of each chain-link is almost nonexistent, it actually look more like smeared glue than a weld. DO NOT BUY!!

Best idea ever. This thing works great, easy to wear, doesn't get in the way, and that chain is THICK. I don't love the padlock that came with it, but considering the whole thing cost lest than most high security chains on the market, I would say the quality of the lock more than meets expectations (and anyway you could always just use any padlock you like, the belted chain is the real innovation here). I recommend this to anyone who has a bike worth stealing.
