For five years - one thousand, nine hundred and twenty-two nights to be exact - I’ve watched her from afar… Protecting her. Keeping her safe from the world. And stalking her every move. What started as a favor for her brother has grown into something so much more. A full-blown obsession. I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, unless I get my Meredith fix. Claiming her could start a war, and might very well result in my death. But she’s mine, she’s always been mine. She just doesn’t know it yet. Breaking Meredith is a standalone dark romance in the Disciples series. Review: Worth Waiting For <3 Absolutely adore Simon and Meredith :) - OMG, this book was definitely worth the wait. Initially I was only interested in Simon (by far my favorite character along with Lucifer) and the other returning characters, and it did take me a bit to care about Meredith. But once I did I saw how perfect she was for Simon and I was rooting for her the rest of the book. Simon truly is a germophobe and loves everything in the proper place, but it was funny how Meredith used that to irritate him and to shake him out of being indifferent towards her. It was great seeing the other characters again, though I would've liked seeing the children a bit more (especially Adam and Abigail). As for Meredith, on one hand you could sort of understand her hatred for the brother, on the other hand it did make me wonder why she didn't bother to get all the facts, and she was a little naive to me when it came to "her purpose in life" and her "targets" and thinking she was nothing like her brother when they were similar in some ways (read to book to get it ;) ). Anyways, the ending was satisfying, and I feel like the book is a bit bloodier than the last one, but it was also very cool and the people deserved what came to them in my opinion. The fact that a new/returning enemy is making things interesting, and the introduction of Lucifer's hellhound makes me very excited for the next book. I definitely recommend this book to readers. Review: Simon's falls for Lucifer's sister - This was another great addition to the Disciples series. After Book 3 finished with Meredith waltzing in, leaving Simon's jaw hanging, we get to learn who Lucifer's sister is and where she's come from. After being emotionally scarred from Lucifer's slightly psychotic ways when they were younger, Meredith's life goal is to con rich, unscrupulous men into falling for her and then taking their life apart piece by piece, disappearing into the sunset when she's done destroying them. When her deviousness with one of her marks doesn't quite go to plan, she rushes home on the hope she'll be protected by Lucifer. Unbeknownst to her, Simon has been enamoured with her and has been keeping a close watch on her for years, a combination the authors manage to make both creepy and hot as hell. Having had Simon pop up in all previous books, his quirkiness is well and truly established. This book embraced that, especially his germaphobe ways and need for cleanliness and order. I loved it, particularly because this made Simon stand out from the usual alphas of Lucifer's pack. It was both endearing and hilarious and added a lot to both this story, and the previous books'. I found Meredith a little harder to like. For the first half of the book, she was bratty and petulant. I did like her more in the second half of the book, but I had to work towards it. She didn't like Lucifer, so she was never going to endear herself to me straight away lol. The relationship between the two was a case of opposites attracting. Their connection was immediate and passionate, with Simon being possessive, protective and dominant. Phwoar! As with all of the books in this series, the story was over the top in parts. There were a few typos throughout the novel, but nothing too dramatic. I also found some of the characters' monologues drawn out and overly angsty, which made some parts seem repetitive and borderline cheesy. For these reasons, I took a star off even though I enjoyed the book. I absolutely loved Lucifer and Lily popping up in the stories. Please, please, please have this continue to happen but more frequently! I love reading about them. I also really enjoyed Simon's dryness and annoyance at the crew. One of my favourite quotes from him in the book - "Die in a fire, all of you" after they're having fun at his expense. It killed me. I've already purchased and read the next book and can't wait for future installments. More Lucifer (please :) Oh, and the cover is fabulous!

Epic Read
Simon, I did not know you had it in you even though I keep telling myself 'the quiet ones are the ones to keep an eye out for'. Well I must say that you surpass my expectations of you Simon, and it was really enjoyable and memorable reading about you and Meredith. I love Meredith's character of the strong female who is able to fend and protect herself, but there is still that little girl inside that needs the approval and support of family and friends every now and then. Although her relationship with her brother Lucifer is a bit strained at the moment, I just love that he is still protective of her and only want the best for her, no matter how angry she is with him. Now, I really enjoy the challenge she is to Simon on every level and how much she does to thwart him and get him to reveal the man behind the mask he shows everyone. The unraveling of their relationship although hilarious, was just beautiful and endearing to read about. The way they get under each other's skin and fight tooth and nail to keep their emotions and feelings under lock and key was emotional and pretty intense. The comrade of the disciples team members on the revelation of Simon's status was just comical and entertaining. I love how much they have each other's back and how far they will go to protect each other no matter what. It's even great to get a look into how Simon is able to know things before they even happen at times and how much of a hold he has a pulse on everything happening around them. That wide reach is pretty amazing. I hope and pray that this is not the last of the disciples. Please let there be more to come. Will James end up with the chiefs daughter and how much of a role will Gabriel play and his story.

A bit too spicy
I couldn't enjoy this book as much as others due to the inclusion of partner violence and demonization of autistic traits. However, in the context of this universe its plausible so I don't regret finishing the novel. Thanks to tiktok I started with #5 so I also know the missing background of why Gabriel and Simon are so messed up. Each taking the opposite trauma response to childhood abuse ect. I've also read a few rebellion is everything female leads before which make no damn sense to me. Meredith is given just enough flavor to explain her actions and make it seem real, rather than just a personality flaw for plot convienece.

Perfect Compatible Characters😍
An addicting read of power struggles between two perfect for each-other characters in the most appropriate vanilla BDSM. On the run and being kept hidden with the Saudi’s making an appearance and the same dreading doom that’s hanging over the Family’s head they’ve been feeling brewing for a while, so intense that they call in huge favors to release their lost brother from a lifetime of imprisonment. I always enjoy and appreciate the different main character perspectives, always makes it more easier to understand the inner workings and personalities better. Meredith has never been able to forgive or forget her brother Mathew’s sin from years ago and lives her life being the black widow to corrupted men, exposing their transgressions and blackmailing them to ruin their lives. Unfortunately Meredith’s lasted conquest has costed her dearly and running to the protection of her nemesis and being in the care of an infuriating male who demands Meredith’s utter surrender and devotion. Simon the germaphobe strict analysis who does his job within the Family exceptionally well, while keeping hidden his secret obsession of watching over Meredith until the fateful moment she’s placed in his care. Within grasp, Simon begins his journey of how to navigate conquering Meredith and balancing his work while being unwilling to relinquish either. The romance between Simon and Meredith is twisted and perfect for the characters, their balancing personalities amusing and endearing to read about and their growth with one another satisfying. The supporting characters are always amusing with their banter with one another and the reoccurring past character appearances always fun.

WHAT A READ!!
I've been itching to get my hands on this book and I was not disappointed! We have seen the cold-hearted Simon or the "spider" before in the previous books and I'm excited that he has his own story with Lucifier's sister no less! I enjoyed the story, most of all Simon's alpha-ness! He's right up to par next to Lucifer. Simon has been watching over Meredith for a while now, and she's a been a temptation for himself over several years. Meredith wasn't so keen on him at first and so began the tantalizing push and pull between them. I wasn't such a big fan of Meredith's, I felt as if she was looking at the world through rose-colored glasses. She is a bit of a badass but as someone who's related to Lucifer, I felt that there should have been more to her character. But I guess that's where Simon can come in to protect her. Overall, I enjoyed the story and the plot, though I wish there was more. More of Simon and Meredith's relationship (it left me unsatisfied and wanted more of a resolution between them) and more to the plot. The ending left me with more questions. I hope there would be novella to check in with the previous characters--especially Matthew and Lily! I'm so thankful to have received an ARC, but of course, I had to purchase my own copy!

Simon's story ❤
I read this via my ku subscription and am leaving my review voluntarily. This is part of a series and features characters from earlier books and could be read as a standalone but is more enjoyable if you read in order. Triggers: violence, murder, torture **spoilers** I was happy to see Simon get his own story. His character was well written and interesting in previous books. Simon works for Lucifer. He has a knack for information collecting and he is a germaphobe. Simon has been watching over Meredith, Lucifer's estranged sister for years. Meredith is Lucifer's sister. She hates him after witnessing a violent incident with him years prior. She despises all of his men for their ways. Fast forward, Meredith gets into trouble and runs to Lucifer for help. Typical hypocrite- she hates his violent ways but when she gets herself in a jam, after murdering someone no less, she runs to her brother. I could not get into Meredith's character for the first 50% ? of the story. I kept hoping she would die off or just leave. She is unpleasant, with a holier than thou attitude. While putting her brother down for his behavior, she herself has indulged in questionable behavior but justifies it because "she's only ruining bad men". I eventually was able to tolerate her but still wouldn't have minded if she had died off. Lots of action, violence, murder and sexy time as this is all part of Lucifer's world. Looking forward to reading about Gabriel, Simons brother.

I looove this book! So many boxes checked!
A j/p H who is overprotective, swoony, an alpha/dom, yet sweet when he needs to be to the h? Yessssss!!! The opening chapter is when Meredith basically kills a man, a bad man, after he got aggressive and threatened her. Unfortunately, this decision isn’t a good one and prompts her brother, Lucifer/Matthew, and Simon to protect her because of who that man was. Simon is part of the team, a criminal team, that has various responsibilities. He’s the tech savvy one of the team, the nerd, the one that doesn’t like to be touched because he’s a germaphobe. He’s in charge of the surveillance for everyone, including Meredith, who happens to be Lucifer’s sister. But the thing is, he’s actually been watching/spying on her for the last five years, which means that he is OBSESSED with her. Meredith gets forced to stay locked in the compound because they fear for her safety. When she tries to escape, Simon is forced to escalate his ways of protecting her (and to live with him), and it was all delicious. The fighting, the running, the catching, the biting, the restraining, the spanking, the sassiness, the holding down-the marking- that’s all my catnip!!! 🤤🤤🤤🔥🥵. Jeeezus- the first scene where he spanks her because she keeps being petulant/bratty was soooo good! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻yes Simon YAAASS!! Although Meredith tries to have the upper hand, she never has it because Simon has been watching her for years 👀he knows her better than she knows herself… which means, he knows all the tricks up her sleeve 🥵🔥! All their interactions were explosive- at first, a bit of noncon… then it quickly turned into dubcon… and then it was allllll wanted 👏🏻🥰🥵. Simon was so damn swoony as well. He doesn’t “joke” and Meredith quickly catches on that when he says things, he means it 💁🏻♀️. He takes protectiveness to the next level ❤️😅. Looooved it all. Also, he calls her princess (swoooon)! My only gripe is that I wish this was longer 😩. Buuut I’m glad there are more books in this series- which means, they’ll make appearances lol. Side note- I didn’t feel lost not reading the previous books, but I’m definitely going to now ❤️. ⚠️safety squad⚠️ -no cheating/owd/omd -noncon/mostly dubcon scenes that quickly change -people die -there’s a sort of gruesome torture scene towards the end (not too graphic but we get the gist of what’s happening 😬)

Awesome
I loved everything about this one. The character's especially. Meredith was very entertaining and Simon was the best male character I have come across in a very long time. The crazy, possessive, jealous, controlling, sexy, strong alpha that make the best heroes in romance books. A perfect escape! Need more stories like this.

Great Read!
This dark and action packed romance really does deliver! Two strong stubborn leads very set in their ways, who've been thrust together. He wants to protect he, as he's done for five years, she wants out from under her brothers influence. Well paced and well written this book is full of suspense, just the right amount of darkness and hot romance in between. They're two people who shouldn't work but do. One thing is clear though, you don't get between their love... not if you want to live another day.

Spider
When I first started this book I had to paused it, as I couldn't seem to get into it. I don't think it was the book itself just a me thing. I gave it a day and went back in. Meredith and Simon are two very controlled people. Each wanting their own way. Rules and commands at to be followed but Meredith finds she breaks under simons control. The germaphobe seems to overcome so of his habits in the wake of the beast inside him being released. Lots of action, gangs, hilarious moments too.

Four Stars
Love this series but the editing was terrible! It’s “I’d rather” not I rather! So annoying.
