Not a Perfect Kluson Clone but One Could Not Expect Better For The Price
These are certainly worth the money and considering this, these are HIGHLY recommended. Only shortcomings are :1. The retaining hole the string is inserted in before tuning is a noticeably more shallow than one finds on Kluson or Fender Kluson type, split shaft, vintage style tuners. It makes winding just a little more tricky but not bad enough to cause slipping or failure to retain.2. The gear ratio takes a bit more winding to reach pitch than one would expect with Klusons or high quality clones. In some cases this would allow greater accuracy in locating perfect tune but that was never a problem with standard Kluson gear ratios. Not something that will affect your playing, just expect to put in just a little more elbow (or wrist) grease than you would if you are used to Kluson. Not at all a deal breaker, just a small compromise the price would certainly make up for.Not a shortcoming IMO, something I'd already anticipated but if you are replacing some of the more modern tuners used on Squier and Fender guitars, you'll need conversion bushings for tuner ferrules to adapt these smaller, vintage (Kluson) style tuners, which have a 6mm or 15/64" string post, to a modern 3/8 inch or 10mm peg hole that many of the newer tuner require. You have to use the conversion bushing ferrules with these tuners because most modern tuners use a bigger hole in your guitar's headstock and these will rattle around and be pulled to the side by string tension.Again, no big deal... you can them here for about $6 for Chinese aftermarket ferrule bushings or $10-$15 for a little better quality conversion ferrules that also may look a little more "vintage correct" (if that matters to you) from StewMac, AllParts, etc... Either will function just fine.Regardless of the slight compromises of differences between these Kluson clones and Kluson's new Deluxe Series reproduction of the "single line", vintage style 6-In-Line Tuners at $65, or the original 1960's, vintage Kluson "single line" tuners that will cost you $500 -$1000, depending on condition...the differnces become easily forgettable when you consider all you paid was a lousy $21 bucks for these, that look almost identicle and function "almost" identically as well as real Klusons. You get 98% of appearance and function for original Klusons 2% of the cost. One of the best gear bargains you'll ever find. I have old Fenders with the originals and I'm perfectly happy with these as well.Rating - 4.9 Stars Out Of 5

Measurements might vary.
I like the build quality of these tuners. They seem quite stable. However, the only issue I had with the set I received was that the ferrules were much larger. The actual tuning machine post will fit smaller, vintage holes of 8.5mm. But the ferrules themselves measured closer to 9.5mm. I ended up using the old ferrules to avoid modifying my headstock. I’m not sure if measurements were taken (at the factory) before the nickel plating? Maybe it added just a little of thickness.

Fits Squier neck pretty well
Nice copy of the Saf T Post tuners. Stays in tune and easy install on a Squier neck.

So far they're great!
I've owned an SX SST57 for over ten years now and two of the stock tuners fought me every bit of the way. They would keep tune, that's why I never bothered changing them before, but getting them to pitch was always a struggle. Finally I had enough and decided to replace the lot of them. I wanted to expand upon the guitar's vintage design by buying vintage style tuners. I checked quite a few of the vintage style tuners, read the reviews and after finding 10mm ferrules to assure they would fit my guitar I purchased these. When they arrived I was too excited and adopted the "measure once, cut as many times as it takes to get the job done" method. I can only blame myself. I may have misaligned the 6th and 5th string tuners, but they all work perfectly so far. No binding, no grinding and they hold tune pretty well. If you own an SX strat and want a vintage style set of tuners, I highly suggest these AND a set of 10mm ferrules, of course.

Impressive quality for the price
Let me say first that I think split-shaft tuners are far superior to the “modern” equivalents. They make it easier to get the proper downward break angle over the nut on a Fender-style (6 in-line) headstock, they hold tune better, you can undo the strings and wind them back up again—the advantages are many.I took a chance on these, since they were far less than equivalent Klusons, and was pleasantly surprised. The screws lined up to where Klusons had been and they work just as well.I was so happy with them that I bought a second set for another guitar. I’m considering replacing the “modern” tuners I have on my other guitars with these. If you’re looking to buy a set, make sure you know the peghole size. If it’s 10mm (nearly all modern Fenders, for example) you’ll need to buy those bushings separately. And to get those bushings in (regardless of peghole size) takes a bit of force with the plastic end of a screwdriver, or other similar tool that can provide some force without damaging the headstock. I’m sure bad reviews saying “they don’t fit” could have been avoided if these tips are followed.

[shaking head no]
These didn’t work to replace the stock, traditional tuning machine head buttons for the Squier enlarged headstock (CBS-Style) Stratocaster neck I’m using to build a relic 1969 Sunburst Fender Stratocaster…I ended up putting the stock ones back on…these buttons weren’t gripping the knobs well enough and the buttons were spinning freely, leaving the guitar’s tuning unchanged (& wrong)

Good enough to not replace
Machining on the tuners is inconsistent, 3 of the 12 screw notches weren’t centered. Made it work and they’ll stay on the instrument but you get what you pay for with these guys. Tuners turn smooth and they stay in place so I guess there’s not too much to complain about.

Look GREAT, takes some time to install!
I bought these for a build I'm doing with my first guitar ever. I'm going for a vintage look, and I've always loved the white tipped vintage tuners. I've never done this before, so it took me a second to get it right. I had to drill new bigger holes for the tuners, and on the back of the headstock to hold them in place. It was easier than i expected, but still took me like an hour. Haven't tested how well they stay in tune yet, but from what I see in the other reviews, I'm not too worried.

Very pleased!
Purchased to mod a Squire Bullet Strat. I love the vintage style tuners, the easiest to restring in my opinion. The aged white buttons match the guitars pickguard perfectly for a really unique look. Super fast shipping and great price. Will order more. 10/10.
