The media could not be loaded. As an ex-examiner and administrator for IELTS I can strongly recommend the entire series of IELTS Practice Tests. I recently purchased Set 5, both the Academic and the General Training Test books, together with downloadable audios, and the quality overall is remarkable, and not only that, but highly competitive with other "official" IELTS training guides. This is not always the case, I must say, and this is the first time I have purchased any of these books from the series. For new and repeating IELTS candidates, this series has a lot to offer and is well presented and edited, following the typical IELTS sequence. Audio recordings are top-notch, easy to download, and clear to listen to (only once, of course!! hahaha). As a linguist and linguistics specialist, Number 5 Practice Tests (General Training and Academic) are ideal to assist students and candidates in their respective journeys to success! For the Academic option it is always vital to practise the Writing Task 1, which for many candidates creates at least some difficulties. Charts, tables, graphs, and diagrams can cause not only frustration, but uneasiness in the real IELTS test, hence the importance of getting to grips with these long before the test.Another of the helpful aspects of this book (and the others) is the analysis given to answers in the Reading section - full explanations can help the student or candidate understand much of the logic applied in IELTS. In the end, IELTS is like no other English language test, so using the best materials available is a huge advantage. That is why I would firmly recommend this and any of the other texts in the series.

The mock tests of this book are quite challenging but that's what you need if really want to prepare yourself with something as close as possible to the real exam. I usually follow the tips contained on Simone's book 'Target band 7' to be more effective and manage my time better and as a result I got some good scores at the end of these tests. Very happy with this purchase!

This book was excellent preparation for my ielts exam, great explanations and tips. The difficulty is exactly the same as on the real exam and it helped me a lot to achieve the score band 7 that i needed

As with the other books in this series, it’s the explanations and commentaries that really set it apart. The answer sections for the reading and listening sections provide really clear details to explain why each answer was correct which helps you to understand how and where you went wrong. There is an excellent range of themes for these sections which should really help you to feel prepared and confident.There are a five different recordings of sample responses to accompany the speaking exam, with the grades ranging from 7 to 8.5, so you get a really clear idea of what each level sounds like and the commentary explains how the grade was arrived at. This is so helpful for working out which elements of your speaking need improving.The writing sections also have a really good range of topics, and there are sample responses for each one to give you an idea of how to approach your answer and what is expected.I can’t recommend these books highly enough!

I am preparing to take the IELTS exam in May and I find these set of tests extremely helpful as they are exactly like the real ones. The book contains the answer keys so it is perfect for self study.Great buy!

The tests are designed exactly as the real IELTS. Set4 and set5 along with Target Band7 have helped me a lot through my IELTS learning journey Therefore I recommend this book to all students and teachers.(nasir)
