This is a great product that has other uses. I use it in a linament for my horse, and it helps keep his leg tendons healthy

So i used to repell bugs and it works the best i have ever seen, so i sprued it pn my dogs as there are outside cats that keep giving my dogs fees and unbelievable, my dog stopped itching right then and there wow, then i read read it is toxic to dogs and kids and to inhale, is this true? Its the best thing i ever used for bugs repellent and killing them

I was disappointed in this product. Main disclaimer here is that I have not tried any other camphor oil product, so perhaps this is as good as it gets. I wanted to use this to add to body lotion to make a cooling lotion with some of the qualities of Tiger Balm. Even full strength, this has only a faint smell of camphor and applying directly to my skin, it doesn't have a cooling effect and has little discernible scent. It is as if I have the vehicle but not the camphor that is supposed to be dissolved in it. If I buy another camphor oil and it is no better, I will come back and upgrade the review to more stars - maybe I just have unrealistic expectations. update 11/29 - I originally gave a two star review. Most of my comments above still apply, but I think there is probably a problem with my expectations, not with the product. The new rating is a compromise between the product and customer service .. The company who sells this stands by their product, and was understandable upset by my review. Without prompting from me, they sent me another bottle in case there was some problem with the first bottle. The second bottle was no different, but I doubt either was defective in any way. There is apparently a lot of difference between camphor oil and camphor itself, a difference I was insufficiently aware of. Wikipedia says there is not much camphor in white camphor essential oil, but has no reference for that statement (as it notes): "In 1980, the US Food and Drug Administration set a limit of 11% allowable camphor in consumer products, and banned products labeled as camphorated oil, camphor oil, camphor liniment, and camphorated liniment (except "white camphor essential oil", which contains no significant amount of camphor[citation needed])."

So wonderful and aromatic! I use this for Medical clients and when adding to other carrier oils, it keeps its scent and healing properties. Very important when helping injured clients and people with respiratory issues

I use camphor oil as an inhalant in boiling water when someone has a cold. It opens up the head and chest and relieves wheezing too. This Sun Organic Essential Oil is very strong and smells just like camphor should (like moth balls), and I'll buy this brand again when our bottle is gone. People have been using camphor (oil or granules) for hundreds of years as a treatment for colds, croup an congestion, and it works! I add about a teaspoon of the oil to a full 2-quarts of boiling water then have the sick person stand over the pot and breathe the steam. You can also put a towel over their head to help concentrate and direct the steam, but be careful not to catch the towel on fire! I've also added a drop or two of this oil to the little pads that come with a Vicks vaporizer. They're designed to be one-use pads, but if I can refresh them with camphor oil it saves money.

I have had great results with this company's Orange, Lemon and Mint oils -- BUT NOT with this camphor --- it is so WUSSY and watered-down!! There is too much carrier and not enough camphor. My previous order of camphor oil from a totally different company gave me, in one ounce of that product -- MORE scent than was in this huge 8 ounce bottle. For shame!!! This is not only a sad waste of my money, but I'm trying to mask and repel the odor of heavy cigarette smoke coming from an adjoining neighbor - and Camphor, which is a breathing aid, successfully works to dissipate the odor and the smoke. My one ounce bottle of Camphor did a really good job of it -- this 8 ounce bottle does NOT.
