Hello, The official shelf life of MREs is 7-10 years when stored at 70 deg. F (according to the Natick Research Labs MRE Shelf Life Chart). The minimum life specified in production contracts is 36 months at 80 deg. F. So, storage temp is the key factor. At Long Life Food Depot, we get our MRE products directly from the manufacturers where they have been stored at 70 deg. or less, then we store them in a temp controlled warehouse until we pack them and ship to a fulfillment center where they are stored correctly. thanks, LLFD
