Shipping was faster than what I expected! Good product, the thermometer is accurate, and the TDS shows different reading when I tested my koi pond, aquarium, tap water, and purified drinking water, all reading seems legit. Affordable and accurate!

Good instrument but must be calibrated with test solution for maximum accuracy. However, for most people, this is probably not really needed since the measurement out of the box will usually be sufficient. However, I would recommend purchasing the HM Digital C342 TDS and EC Calibration Solution, 342 ppm (NaCl), 90 ml Volume ($10) if you want to be confident of the reading. Luckily, a trimmer adjustment hole is provided to calibrate the instrument to the solution. I say all this recognizing the price of this unit and that it doesn't present itself as a laboratory instrument. In my case, although being an engineer, my actual purpose was to convince my wife of the accuracy of the reading and to show her that the TDS reading from the "Free Water Analysis" guy was grossly in error (big surprise there).

I'm learning fast on Hydroponic gardening, most of the websites I visited to get info never mentioned measuring the nutrients in the water but it's basically guesswork without this meter. Simply measure the dissolved solids in the water before adding nutrients and add that amount to the manufacture's ppm recommendation for the stage of your plant. the meter worked only once in my tap water, when i tried in on my hydroponic solution it failed , it goes to 118 .

It isn't in fahrenheit - so it is hard to read. Have to calculate what the water temperature is back info fahrenheit.

At first when I received the product (which was shipped and received in 2 days) the instructions were clear, but with my non-existent knowledge of what the numbers meant, I felt lost. When the company read my response, they immediately said this:"I’ve attached a brochure for you titled “Total Dissolved Solids, Water Purity, and Your New TDS Meter.” It has lots of great information about measuring the quality of your water and how to best use your TTM-A1A to achieve accurate readings."So I immediately printed out the brochure and tested my water from my RO system and my Well water.Now I am very happy. I purchased this device so that I would know when my RO filter needed to be replaced (It's just me living in the house and so my thoughts were it should not need to be replaced just because of how old it is versus how much is it being used). Plus, now for the first time i know the PPM for my Well water which is 38 and according to the chart, that's good drinking water =)I would recommend this product to anyone desiring to know more about their water PPM numbers.Thank you!!

Great meter, reliable consistency. Actually arrived properly calibrated. Only thing I do wish was if there could've been a backlight when trying to make readings. It does have a hold feature so you can remove the pen & see the results still but a backlight would be just that much better for one more star.

Terrible product. Didn't work right coming out of the box. The temp gauge was off by 5-10 degrees. Then the damn thing wouldn't shut off correctly and would just beep beep at me in the box complaining that I was sending it back. Stay away.
