This is just the right size to be able to move from room to room, table to table. It manipulates well into positions. 2 different light choices. Bright and white, which I love. clear but not straining on my eyes. And the typical yellowish light. The lens can be replaced if needed. The clamp is padded, which I think is nice. Won't scratch surfaces. Springs and knobs do their jobs and seem to be strong and long lasting. Over all a great product.

I used to work in a manufacturing plant where they used this type of magnifying device with a florescent light. Now retired, I’ve taken up some hobbies that would benefit from more light and magnification. Plus the old eyes need lots of help these days.I checked on Amazon and was delighted to see that LED lighting was now available!I bought this unit and upon delivery took it out to my man cave and installed it on my work bench. After trying several placements, I installed it and was immediately grateful for the addition. Arm reach is great and can be positioned for all sorts of tasks.I use mine for inspecting parts for an assembly project, overhead lighting for better viewing, and general visual enhancement of objects.This unit has two different light sources. One is bright white. The other is a noticeable yellow tone - easier on the eyes for long periods of viewing.The attached on/off switch is handy, located near the bottom of the arm. The cord is long enough to comfortably route to a power source.The addition of this magnifying light has greatly enhanced my workspace.

Used to do alterations & repairs but an allergic reaction ruined my eyesight. This worked out perfectly so that I could get back into using my sewing machine again. Hubby set it all up on a sewing table he built for me. Hope I can include the photos I took. When I look through the glass lens, it’s as if my eyesight is perfect. It easily adjusts to suit all my needs for any given angle. Has helped me to do a more professional looking job on the repair projects presented to me so far. Purchased Nov. 8, 2019. Quality item. [Note - This review is an update from my initial one from a few weeks ago, which appears below. I was in a hurry to replace a broken magnifier which I use constantly in my electronics business. Because of that, I didn't really read (and absorb) the description thoroughly before buying it - and that was my mistake.] After using this lamp for a couple of weeks, I am starting to really like it. It stays where you put it once you adjust it, and there is a switch that changes the lighting from hard blue to a warmer incandescent-like hue. The lens really is a good quality, low distortion lens, and to get the maximum magnification I find that I just need to back away from the lens a bit, and it's enough for my vision to repair surface mount electronic components as small as SOT-23 packages and 0102 resistors and capacitors.Also I have to say that this company has excellent customer service - When they read my initial review they reached out to me right away offering to take the item back, and were quite concerned that their product was not meeting my needs. This is pretty rare in my experience. The whole thing is a little too lightweight to be ideal for me, but taking the price into account, that's now the only issue for me.Original review:When I saw the tiny box I knew I had made a mistake here. This light is super small. It's also super lightweight, and whenever I go to reposition it I have to be careful not to knock it out of it's holder at the edge of the bench. The magnification is low as well, it doesn't enlarge the image very much. Also, the photo in the listing above makes the magnifier lens look pretty large. It's pretty small though.There are a couple of positives though. The magnifier head stays where you adjust it. Not surprising, since it doesn't weigh anything. Also, the amount and quality of the lighting is not bad but could be less orange/daylight and more blue for better detail. The arm is very short, but for those who have limited bench space or need to work close to where you clamp the base, this could be a good thing . My previous magnifier was too long to work at the left edge of my bench; the magnifier couldn't be positioned that close to the base. This one doesn't have that issue.

I like to say that this product is made solid and the magnifying glass isvery strong and the LED lights are very bright,I bought this magnifying glass desk lamp to use while making socks on a Erlbacher gearhart speedster sock machine,I can move the lamp into any position i need to see and the magnifying glass is perfect for using when you a drop a stitch or suspect a bent needle and has worked the best for me and what i'm using it for, Its AWESOME

This is an amazing product, very adjustable and perfect for me while I'm working on chainmail jewelry orders. The glass gets dirty as glass does but that's the only con. It's easy to move the arm and relocate as necessary also has great brightness and two light options, white and yellow.

I must've spent a hundred damned hours, trying to pick the right mag/lamp for my application. I suppose that I might have finally just jumped on this one when I really shouldn't have because I was sick and tired of looking. So don't get me wrong, this is really a very nice product. It stays where you put it, right out of the box, the lens is beaUTiful, and the lights are plenty bright enough. Because they are, I really wish I'd bought a lamp that is dimmable, because its the brightest light in my office to the point where its annoying when its on, on either of its two settings, one of which is exactly like a fluorescent light, the other being warm, but exactly as bright as the other one. If I'd bought a dimmable light, I could have used it as I did with my old one at a low setting, always on, just bright enough to cast a little light on my computer keyboard. This one? No. Not so much. So this one is moving to my outbuilding woodshop, where I'm sure it will be well loved, and at some point in time I'll shop some more. (groans loudly) Think of this product as task specific, which is where it shines, (hehe), and not as ambient or mood lighting, at all.
