Decent mag for the subscription price. But not for bargain equipment buyers.
I’ve subscribed to or read this magazine on and off for over 30 years. It’s a good source of information for keeping up on the latest a/v technology, getting some questions answered and media reviews especially multi-channel music which is sadly lacking in mainstream public reviews…. As far as equipment reviews, it’s not for the financially faint of heart or bargain hunters as many others have mentioned. Yes, there are some lower to mid-price reviews from time to time but the majority of reviews are higher-end out of range, for most people with average to below-average incomes…like myself. Don’t get me wrong : it’s still a decent enough magazine for the kindle subscription price, but I think that most people will find themselves only skimming over the review sections after seeing prices, especially in the current economic situation we’re currently in..Of course, the magazine has been like that ever since I began reading it, so it’s not anything new or unexpected. And ads…lots and lots of ads..Still, I’d recommend the magazine at the current price to anyone with a casual or serious interest in audio and home theater.

Great deal!
This was an excellent deal, and Amazon even alerts you when a new issue will ship! As long as the price is similar, I will renew!

Full of Stuff You Can't Afford...But Cool!
Yep. I love this magazine, it's really, really well-written and researched. As a matter of fact, you get a more discriminating taste just from reading it! But sadly, this is a magazine for rich people who can afford to spend $5000 on a Reciever. I'm saving my issues, though...in case I become one of those someday!

Still a great magazine
I've been essentially subscribing to this magazine since 1975. It's gone through multiple title changes and a couple merges, but Sound and Vision is the closet thing to an everyman audio magazine one can find. There are several magazines still being printed that tout thousand dollar power cables and hundred dollar wooden volume control knobs that add subtle nuances to the music but S&V is probably the last English magazine that still appeals to mortals with mortal bank accounts.S&V does a good job of covering equipment that 99% of audiophiles can afford. They test a lot of home theater equipment as one would expect given their name but they also do headphones, ear buds, stereo equipment, DACs as well as a small assortment of DVD/Blueray/audio disks a month.I still miss the absorbed/transformed Stereo Review but realize the number of people looking for "just" stereo is exceedingly small. S&V continues the tradition the best that can be done in today's marketplace and I'm glad. It's still a good magazine and being in print, I even like the ads a focused magazine like this provides.

Concise Product Reviews
While the magazine provides concise product reviews, the products are all significantly $1,000s out of my price range. It is of no “value” to me…

Informative
I've been an audiophile for over 20 years and I crave good and informative audio magazines. This magazine has it all even for the home theater novice.

The Home Theater Authority
Great mag , very much satisfied that I finally renewed my old subscription . If you're into chest thumpin bass , soft dome tweeters , radial tweeters and all the rest of the good sounding gear then this is the mag for you.
