Our cats all LOVE this stuff!I am an independent reviewer who has not received any monetary compensation or any of this product in return for my review.We have 3 cats: Two senior lady cats (one 14-year-old and one 12-year-old), and one 2-year-old energetic male, all very different in personality but all good eaters and all very healthy. So healthy, in fact, that our vet always MARVELS at how soft, thick, and shiny their coats are and how good their teeth are! This is because we feed them the best grain-free, high-protein food we can find. We do our research, and we read labels.So we are not looking to change our food, but we are very interested in finding a safe, top-quality probiotic to add to their diets because the 2 ladycats are chronic barfers (onto our rented condo's wall-to-wall, off-white carpeting). Their annual physical exams, including bloodwork, always show them to be in good health, so we're pretty convinced that they just need a little help with digestion. A good probiotic.And therein, we thought, lies the problem. Our cats all love their food, but so far any time we have tried to introduce a supplement, we have seen the same thing: Three cats walking away from untouched dinners.We are old enough to have gone through decades of pendulum-swinging on the dry-food-only versus wet-food-only debates. We see the merits in both, and we think that a varied diet makes the most sense. The dry food keeps their teeth healthy, and the wet (canned) food gives them extra moisture in their diet.We give them each 3 small meals per day, we discard any uneaten food, and each meal is served in 3 clean bowls, 1 for each cat. (Yes, that's 9 cat bowls--not including the water bowls--to clean per day.) So we don't think that the barfing has anything to do with improper food handling. For breakfast and bedtime snack, we serve 1/4 cup of dry food split between their 3 bowls. For the meal in between (dinner), we serve 1/6 can of wet (canned) food into each of their 3 bowls. It amounts to just about a heaping tablespoon each, but they always look forward to it.Wet food is the best way to introduce a supplement, but even then, it's tricky with our cats, so I have to do it very gradually. With this PETUltimates probiotic, I added the tiniest, imperceptible pinch to the wet food in each of their 3 dishes, and I stirred it up until it looked undetectable. I expected them to discover it and turn up their little noses, but they all lapped it up with gusto! (In fact, it seemed to me that their bowls were all licked unusually clean.)So far, so good, I thought. So after every few days I started upping the dose until I reached the full-scoop dose into each bowl. Success! They LOVE this stuff!My only worry is that I read one customer question (which was really more of a statement than a question) stating that PETUltimates is really only used for appetite enhancement (well, appetites certainly have been enhanced in our cats!), but that for probiotics, FortiFlora (by Purina) is being used now.I hope that this is NOT the case, and that PETUltimates can be used as our cats' complete probiotic supplement because:1. Our cats LOVE this stuff, so if it's a complete probiotic, I think we're home free! Why mess with success?2. PETUltimates lists a number (20) of strains of different probiotics, whereas I see only 1 probiotic strain (Enterococcus faecium) in the FortiFlora ingredient list. I just googled Enterococcus faecium, and although it can be used for probiotics, it can also cause meningitis and endocarditis. I went back and looked at PETUltimates' ingredient list and was glad to find that they didn't use Enterococcus faecium.3. Purina's FortiFlora's first ingredient (and ingredients are listed starting with the highest amount to the lowest amount) was something I thought looked questionable: "Animal digest," so I googled it. (I think you should google it, too, and see for yourself!) Check out one of the links I found: [...](I told you, we do our research, and we read labels.) If you look it up, you will see that "animal digest" contains euthanized animals!4. PETUltimates is all USA produced in a GMP-certified facility (I looked that up, too).Since we lost a very sweet cat to the 2007 China cat-food-ingredient debacle, we have been extra careful about doing our research and reading labels. Our cats are indoor cats, so they have no choice but to eat what we provide for them, so it's our responsibility to make sure that not only are we NOT feeding them tainted ingredients (or euthanized animals!), but, also, we are finding the best possible food for them to eat.I think that the fact that our vet always comments on how beautiful and healthy their coats and teeth are (even in our 14-year-old cat who looks and acts like a 2-year-old) is a good validation that we are being good providers for our cats. Which is only fair, considering that they provide us with daily purring, entertainment, and unconditional love.

I was so desperate for something to work. Nothing did until this product.I'm glad my little rescue (Mia) does not have to suffer like she used to anymore, or be confined because she "leaked" even when walking around. I know this is a long post, but I was desperate to find a cure and it took a long time to find this . She has IBS and had frequent bouts of extreme diarrhea. She had been to the vets a lot for this but nothing worked.I tried different foods, I tried vet prescriptions and Propectin type medicines, probiotics and nothing worked.I tried so many many things to help Mia and nothing worked until I got the Pet Ultimate. (Mia got it every morning on baby food to cure extreme diarrhea - and in a few days she was normal!!)She has stayed normal with the Caru & Honest Kitchen too, but she gets this once or twice a week to maintain her normal stool and colon health.I used chicken baby food for Mia (tiny jar for infants .99 cents each) while I waited for some new cat food to arrive; Caru and Honest Kitchen to arrive. The baby food is only good for a short amount of time as it is not intended for cats - only 2 ingredients, chicken plus a small amount of corn starch. Corn starch is not what you want your cat to eat on a normal basis, however the chicken with the tiny amount of cornstarch is very soothing to the stomach and colon while you add probiotics. Again, this is for short term use only. Her IBS and diarrhea was extreme.Nothing I buy for my cats is from China. This is made in the USA and it really works!!! The amount you use is tiny and it comes with a small scoop in the container. You just sprinkle it onto their wet food.I hope this helps someone who needs some advice. (and yes, I had her stool checked at my VETS and as usual, nothing showed up - but had it, then she would have been on meds AND the Pet Ultimate would have been used during that time too) It is good to rule out all the things that are checked for in the stool sample and go from there.But use caution if a vet tells you to use a cat food they suggest. Or propectin. Do mention the Pet Ultimate and tell them why you are going to use it if you want to. But I urge you to use this INSTEAD of Pro-pectine which never did work. Don't buy a cheaper type or different type. They really aren't balanced in my opinion.If you aren't changing cat food, then put the probiotics directly on the wet food. If you only fed dry food, please add wet cat food to their diet, They really need it.Caru cat food does not cause a reaction. Those cat foods with canola oil, sunflower oil, or coconut oil do and why is it in cat food anyway? Any cat food with oil (except fish oil perhaps?) can cause problems. All the "gums" and "seaweeds" should be avoided too.I am so pleased with the ingredients in Caru Chicken cat food and all my cats love it too. (I do also feed Honest Kitchen, a dehydrated food), 2 times each day (I add water) and with this added to their daily diet I feel like I'm doing the best for their health.My advice; don't buy a cheaper form of probiotic. They are not going to work like this does. They may not work at all. I hope this helps someone that has a kitten or cat with IBS or just diarrhea.Also, if your cat has diarrhea and is also throwing up, a trip to the vets with your cat is most likely needed as they may need sub q fluids. For cats or especially with kittens with diarrhea, it can be life threatening if they get too dehydrated. They will still need this to regain a healthy colon.My opinion only based on my experiences , not medical advice. I love my cats, and this worked and nothing else did.

Have been using for almost 2yrs & it is a MUST for my 12yr old girl. Prior I was using fortaflora,which DID work, but it became WAY TO EXPENSIVE bc of amount/pkgs. My baby HAS TO HAVE probiotics otherwise she WILL have diarrhea. This has been INCREDIBLE, I use 1/2-3/4 scoop(that's included) in ea.of her 2 wet cans of food daily(TOTAL daily being 1 Scoop or slightly over) No Hershey poos 😸 Only complaint is when I 1st purchased..lasted 6months...Now only last 3months 🤔 but regardless still worth it for my sweet girl to have solid poos & of course I don't have to deal with the aftermath of that 🥴😁
