I needed cotton thread for a microwave safe, sewing project (bowl cozies). Polyester thread apparently can melt if people microwave the cozy. Not everyone puts it in the microwave when they heat the bowl, but the directions said to use 100% cotton and it worked great for my project.

Excellent value - I used to work in the NYC garment center after attending Fashion Institute of Technology - I still have many spools of this type of thread from sewing my term garments, and I'm glad to have found a resource to replenish my collection. The thread is not quite as sturdy as some of the polyester or cotton wrapped polyester that I've been using over the years (more readily available but much smaller spools) - I only discern this as I'm making a dust ruffle for my bed and as I draw the threads to gather the fabric for the ruffle, there is a tendency for it to break rather easily. I don't expect any issue with the thread once it is used to sew the ruffle to the bed platform - and the stitching on the hems appears quite nice and the thread looks to be a good quality. Overall, very happy ! (My solution will be to use a polyester thread for the gathering stitches on the ruffle preparation going forward - they are pulled and discarded at the end anyway !)
