Refractometer with Automatic Temperature Compensation

This refractometer does the job, but it’s not quite “set it and forget it.” With proper calibration, it can give reasonably accurate readings, and the automatic temperature compensation is helpful when conditions change slightly. That said, accuracy really depends on frequent recalibration. I found that if you don’t calibrate often, readings can drift, which defeats the purpose if you need consistent measurements (especially for aquariums or salinity-sensitive setups). The adjustment screw is a bit sensitive, so small turns can cause noticeable changes. Build quality is decent but not premium. It feels fine for occasional use, but I wouldn’t rely on it for professional or lab-level accuracy. The optics are clear enough, though focusing takes a little patience at first. This is the best refractometer for the money. Unlike cheaper ones, it will hold calibration a month or more. Worth every penny.

Throw away your plastic hydrometer. This instrument is well built and accurate. Came with detailed usage instructions and a durable carrying case

Very easy to read and feels more solid than the cheaper refractometer I replaced. So far the calibration is holding perfectly between uses.
