I bought these because a close family member of mine is legally blind, however, she knows how to read Braille. It is nice to write to her and make her feel more understood and accepted. Both of the pegs were intact, as the grio. The quality is nice and very durable. I really like the color green, and it makes it stand out. Worth the price.

Use to do simple cards gif the blind .. they work well but I had to do a little of research and ingenuity to get the braille format Would be great to include maybe a specialized card making set for newbies . It was will received .. would love to have one for children !

This aid will help me relearn braille. I remember the formation of the dots in most letters, but practice will hone my skills and this slate and stylus will do the trick!

I bought these to show my students how to use a slate & stylus and to use myself. They are sturdier than I thought plastic ones would be, as I am used to metal ones. My students like to use the styli as braille erasers when they produce braille on the Perkins braille writer. They work well for that, too. Getting two slates and two styli with the purchase is a good deal.

I was using this as a teaching tool for the Signs, Signals, and Codes merit badge, and bought several. They were easy to use, and left really clear impressions that were easy to read with your fingertips.The only thing I noticed is that, of course, it's MUCH easier to read the raised part than the impression, which either means you have to write backwards, or I was using it wrong...
