It's like having a magic elixir at your fingertips, ready to correct any alkaline audacity your water dares to exhibit. With just a few drops, you can bring your solution from the precarious heights of pH imbalance down to the serene valleys of perfect acidity. And why is this important, you ask? Terrible tap water + pH Down = Excellent hydroponic water!
I couldn't be happier with this product. My tap waters pH is so high that it was literally killing my plants. I picked some of this stuff up hoping it would help and I saw improvement THE NEXT DAY! Let me repeat that. THE NEXT DAY. I dumped my hydroponic tanks (Kratky method), and refilled them with a pH balanced supply and literally had a new life in all my plants the next day. This is not pH down, this is PLANT VIAGRA! How I understand that this has nothing to do with feeding, or nutrient value, or anything like that so don't get me wrong. However, being able to have a pH balanced liquid that matches what your individual plants should have has been a game changer in how well the plants actually absorb the water and the nutrients in it. So no, this isn't a nutrient, or a food in any way. It just simply gets your nutrients to where they should be so they perform at their peak. Did I mention.... THE NEXT DAY. There was no long waiting period to see a difference. It was so fast and they are thriving! Why didn't I do this earlier. Oh, and you will need a pH meter to keep testing as you use this. Tiny amounts at a time, retest, add a tiny bit more and retest again until you get where you need to be. I found it took about a cap full per 2.5 gallon bucket in order to get my pH where I needed it, which was down nearly 2 full points. "The next day" - pH Down User for Life

Works great
I use this alot to ph balance my water for my plants. I like to keep my water pH around 6 and this helps a lot to balance it out before adding nutrients to the water supply.

First off, what ph meter are you using? I have 3 different ones from Amazon, calibrated all in the same solutions, at 25 C, all give me different values. They’re useless. If you want to be more sure, you should also have test strips or test fluid. As for all the reviewers saying this doesn’t work, that they had to use a whole bottle or whatever to get to the ph value they were after.. I question your water source. I recently put in an RO system to use for my plants. On my old hard water (about 240ppm) it would take about 8.5ml of ph down to get my 4 gallon jug of just water (for flush) down to 6.0 from about 7.5. Now with RO water measuring 002ppm before adjust, I started on another 4 gallon jug with 3 ml, and it brought me down to 3.5. So I tried a gallon jug, I dipped my finger in the down, then into the jug. I don’t know how to add any less that that? Well, it took my 7.1 down to 4.2. INSANE. This stuff definitely works, too well. I’m new to RO, so I haven’t tried with nutes yet, but I’m hoping once I have a higher ppm in my water from the nutes that it will be less sensitive to adjust the ph. If you have water under 010 ppm and it takes more than a few drops to get your value, you should try another method of testing your ph, because your meter might be lying to you. Some other things to consider is how are you adding your down? Is the tool clean? Have you tried balancing just water? Because maybe it has something to do with the combo of nutes you’re using, or the ppm you end up at with your nutes added. See, this is the problem with online reviews. This didn’t work for someone because they unknowingly were using it wrong, then they leave a trash review. I also have the root farm ph down, and the standard hydroponics down, and it seems to work exactly the same, just as powerful. I haven’t tried the Indo brand yet, but I’m willing to bet it works just as good. So to summarize my opinion, if this isn’t adjusting your levels with just a few drops, I think you have other problems, and that this stuff works great. And to be clear, I bought this myself, I have never had any products shipped to me in exchange for a review. I am a very happy customer of all General Hydroponics products, I run their 10 part nute system in my soil grows, and notice a benefit over using the Indo nutes I started with a couple of years ago. Keep your patients, you’ll get it all figured out soon. There are a lot of areas to master in growing Mary, I’m FAR from it. Ph is an important one, some strains are more forgiving than others, but if you’re too far out your plant might (probably will) stop taking in nutes, and that’s no good.

I gave 5/5 for value for money because this stuff is so powerful that only a couple of drops (less than 1 tsp) will do the job for a gallon of water. I gave 3/5 for easy to use because it's easy to mess up and over adjust because of how concentrated it is. My advice: get yourself an eye-dropper, and make sure you have a pH meter. It was a steep learning curve, but now that I got the hang of it I love this product
