Extensive Lists of Words
This book provided extensive lists of words on very common topics. If you are a Spanish teacher, there are more than enough options to choose from when creating units or activities. I would consider it essential especially in 1-to-1 schools or blended learning programs. It was shipped out immediately and arrived in perfect condition.

I enjoy the games and the beautiful lists of words
I enjoy the games and the beautiful lists of words. I am also adding synonyms to the words I find on the lists. A great way to build vocabulary and have fun at the same time. I have, alas, found a few errors here and there. Editing could have been better. Still, I highly recommend the whole Practice Makes Perfect series.

Some glaring flaws but useful vocabulary
I would prefer to rate this a 2 1/2 stars. It has some glaring flaws, but it does offer a substantial amount of useful vocabulary.I've only finished the first chapter. I fully intend to keep using this book, but I wanted to let others know that this is not the best book in this series.First of all, there were several publishing mistakes. Some acrostic puzzles did not have enough spaces for the entire answer. Ex. "anuncio" should have seven spaces not six. However, I'm willing to over look these kinds of flaws as minor annoyances. The thing that really aggravated me was when the answers were terms that were not in the vocabulary list. Ex. you need to find a word that means "to respond" and the vocabulary list uses "responder," but the answer (from the answer key) is "contestar." I need consistency. If I'm going to learn new words I want them listed in the vocabulary list so that I can refer to them later. I'm not sure if this issue occurs because this book is geared toward intermediate students who should have a decent amount of vocabulary already. Still most books I've worked with will usually define words that pop up and are not included in that chapter's vocabulary list.As with the "responder"/"contestar" problem, I found it difficult at times to figure out what word in the exercise wanted. Ex. a word search wanted a word that means "hello," I tried to use "hola" but could find anything. Eventually I realized it wanted "oigo" which is a response you give to someone on the phone. I found myself referring to the answer key A LOT so that I was filling the exercise correctly rather than repeatedly erasing my answers over and over again. This book isn't terrible, but it suffers from too many mistakes to recommend it. I like the idea of this book, but I feel that someone should have done some more quality control before it was published.

Good but could be excellent
Good idea for a book. I would have given it 4* or 5* BUT the English used is the US version.Vocabulary section on cars uses Trunk instead of Boot, Hood instead of Bonnet etc.All spellings use U.S English, harbor, color etc.In the Spanish translations where there is a difference between Castillian and the Latin American versions both or usually given. Why not the same for the English? Also bit of confusion about the countries that make up the U.K.British is NOT de inglaterra its de gran bretañaEngland = Inglaterra (No Mention)Wales = Gales (Got that one correct)Scotland = Escosia (No Mention)Ireland = Irlanda (got that one correct)If you live in N.America then I would thoroughly recommend it.If you live in the U.K. then I would still recommend it but with reservations you will find the constant use of U.S. spellings annoying. If you are not an English native speaker then care is needed with the English spellings. It’s a very new book 1st published in 2014 and I hope these shortcomings are corrected in the next edition.

Not a lot of fun!
I had hoped for something a little more imaginative, more fun games and quizes, more excitement. Sadly, I have to plough through pages of vocabulary containing words which, should I need them, I would look up at the time. I live in Spain and really need more conversational Spanish which would ease my chats with neighbours, but quite a lot of this book is given up to internal body parts, medical vocabulary, food which I would never think of buying and, on occasions, have never heard of! And the word searches, crosswords and anagrams, such as there are, are rather dry and tedious. I'm progressing through the book but more out of duty than pleasure.
