VEVOR Boat Steering System, Outboard Steering Kit with Boat Steering Control Cable

Came in 4 days early. Everything was in the box as it should be. Set up and install went easy and works great. Mine went on a 93 skeeter with 90 hp motor.

I wish it had come with some sort of instructions or atleast a decent diagram of how it goes together.but if your mechanically inclined any at all, you can figure it out. Works as it should. My 24’ pontoon turns on a dime and smooth as glass!! Gave 3 stars on ease of install because of the lack of instructions. But it’s super easy install..

Good value and quality product for the price, easy installation, includes all hardware needed. length of cable just a little longer than needed but able to adjust fit , overall happy with item.

The steering cable busted on the first time finally got boat in the water for the season. No marina had the part for 200 miles. Ordered from Amazon and to my surprise the item was delivered almost immediately. Perfect and simple repair. Quality part! Thank you

The brand of the original helm unit and cable is unknown, but the boat is a 1994 Chris Craft 197. This system matched the old one exactly and replacement was easy, once the old one was removed. (Nothing is easily removed from a 28 year old boat.) It is completely hidden, so it doesn't really matter, but the fit and finish are excellent. Check back here in 28 years and I'll let you know if it lasts as well as original.

I do recommend finding a different product, or ordering through company directly.I ordered this product to complete a boat restoration and have been consistantly working at it. I went to install this kit and it's had more issues than it's worth. The instructions itself has errors on sizing. There is a template included to drill, however the full size template is not accurate. This has left me with 2 additional holes in my dash due to having to re-drill in the more appropriate location.There is a machined key that goes into the shaft which holds the steering wheen straight on the helm. This key is incorrectly machined and also does not fit.I contacted the seller and they only respond at 2 am EST which makes it hard to communicate. They do not understand the issue and recommended me to "see professionals" not knowing if I am one or not. (I am experienced) insinuating I am the problem and not the product. I will include photos of both the product issues and conversation with support once I am off work.

Quality gear, good feel to components , but on hind sight I should have got the one with a steering wheel DUH!
