Easy replacement
Fan works great again

Works Great, Like New Again
Perfect fit for a 20-year old ecofan 802. Fan was slowing down, required hand start push to get going. New motor wires need soldering, under thirty minutes of repair time, pretty easy if you have a small soldering iron.

Great Replacement
I had an older model so the plug - in pigtail had to be cut off and soldered. Otherwise fit perfectly and worked perfectly.

Soldering may be required, depending on the age of your Ecofan
I used this motor kit to fix an older model fan. Old enough to not have a model number, just a serial number. My fan, which I had bought for my parents as a gift, did not have terminal connectors for the wires, so I had to solder in the replacement. The motors (old and new) had a red dot near one of the terminals, presumably marking polarity, so I made sure to connect the wires in the same orientation. The near wordless guide that came with the kit was adequate. The price of the kit made for an economical fix. I have built multiple fires now, and the fan is working like new. Although I did not do it this way, the motor (on my model) can be replaced without taking the entire fan apart. On my model, there is a collar bracket that holds the motor in place, and one machine nut and bolt tightens the collar around the motor. Loosen this nut, and the motor will slide out. If one disassembles the fan, I advise taking photos of the assembly to make sure that it goes together the way it came apart. There are non-metal bushings that appear to isolate the motor mount from the screws holding the assembly together. If not assembled correctly, heat could be transferred to the motor mount, and the motor, which might shorten its working life.

As good as new for a fraction of the price of new.......
Do what the instructions tell you to do, there are plenty of directions here and with the motor....works like new, I have replaced three of them over the years and have never had any problem with any of them....much less expensive than buying a new fan and saves having it go into the trash or recycle bin...highly recommend it.....

Easy to install and works perfectly.
I am super happy with how easy this was to install and happy that I only had to buy this one part instead of buying a whole new fan. Last year, I noticed my 6 year-old fan was getting slower and slower and then stopped working all together even though it was on a perfectly hot wood burning stove. I was prepared to shell over the money for a new fan and then I came across something that said the motors do end up dying over time and that you can just replace the motor. Who knew?! I made sure this was the right motor and last night when the package came in the mail, it took me all of 2 minutes to swap it out. It comes with a little allen key to take the blade off the motor, then you just need a little screw driver to get the housing clamp loose on the fan. Then, just clip the plug to the unit, then place it back in the housing unit, re-attach the blade, and you're done! I looked at the directions AFTER the fact and it shows soldering irons and stuff, but I think that's if you purchased the wrong motor and have to do some modifications. Since I didn't have my fireplace going yet, I decided to see if the fan worked by putting it on the regular stove. I'm not sure if that's good for the fan or not, but I really wanted to see if it work and TA DA, it worked like a charm! I am so happy with my little purchase because now I have a perfectly perfect fan that I use to direct the heat from my wood burning stove in to the other room. THANKS!

Hooked right up
We have one of the original 3 blade eco fans from caframo. It finally quit after being in use since the latter 1990’s. At first we sent for thermal paste for the heat sensor plate as some videos said to try. But that didn’t get it working again. So we sent for the motor. Btw, our fan didn’t have a model number, so after checking, this motor was supposed to work and it does. I used the little Allen wrench that came with the motor to remove the blades, then used a Philips screw driver to take the bracket off that holds the motor on, then un plugged the 2 wire assembly from the old motor, and plugged the new one to the 2 wires. The old motor had the plug in directly on the motor. The new motor has the plug in coming off the motor on the wires. Then I reassembled it and it works on our wood stove. I didn’t need my husband to help me. It was pretty easy.

Quick to fit and fixed broken fan
Wasn’t sure this would work as I’d previously tried wiring the old motor to a a battery and it seemed to spin, but didn’t work when put on on top the woodburner. So rather than buy a new fan thought I’d give this a go. Took 5 min to fit and now the fan is going 10 to the dozen on top the woodburner. It’s amazing the difference these fans make to the heat of the room
