Beautiful. Of course, we painted ours.
Very sturdy! I bought to replace blades and mechanisms on a metal windmill. Perfect fit! Shipping was awesome! Relatively easy to assemble. Beautiful!

Excellent product!
Great product! I was very impressed with the quality of materials that were used to make this. Very strong, heavy duty. Nothing flimsy about this product! Not very hard to put together. You will not be disappointed!

Top quality
The head arrived in heavy duty cardboard with components grouped together and bundled. All parts are verry durable and assembly was quick and easy. Had the fan blade holes been predrilled it would have been quicker. Workmanship is verry professional.

Nice windmill.
Kit is easy to put together, but building the base with your own wood was more involved for a beginner, but it can be done if you take your time. I added extra cross bracing to help hide a well head. You might want to paint or stain it as you put it together. It would be way easier.

Just What I Was Looking For
After going through three other windmills that fell apart when the wind blew, I was worried I would never find one strong enough. I was immediately impressed with how well built and strong the metal was on the Scott windmill. With a proper drill it is very easy to assemble. So far, it has handled our wind like it was nothing.

Much Better than those kit with metal stand.
Got this and was very easy to assemble. Generally everything looks fine out of the box except for some imperfections like some black paint feeling off and bent main shaft. I contacted the seller to report about about the bent main shaft and they replied promptly that they can replace it free of charge but I decided to keep as I think it can be corrected easily on my end with out issues. My wife and I likes it. We also bought a windmill kit with metal stand here from Amazon back in 2017 but that has a flimsy tail rudder . This one looks much better and stronger and tha you can enjoy for the longest time. My wife and I likes it. Not sure how long those red vinyl stickers will last. We may eventually going to paint it in the near future. There was an instructions included in the kit how to build you own wooden stand in which we did ourselves .Will report back I found anything that you need to know about this product.

Well made and heavy duty windmill head.
I was looking for a nice sturdy and large windmill to go outside my vegetable garden to add to the farm aesthetic (red barn shaped shed on the other side). I had looked at the windmills available at various stores but was always held back by all the bad reviews regarding their lack of longevity. I see plenty of those cheaper windmills around in peoples yards and I will admit far too many of them are sitting there busted or falling apart. I didn't want to have to buy a new one every year or so and I was hoping to get one a bit bigger than those anyway so when I came across this option it seemed like a good fit. I built the stand mostly to the specifications included in the instructions. I did want it to be about a foot taller however so the plans called for the 4x4's to be cut to 6 feet but I cut them to 7 instead. The plan calls for a temporary piece to be cut and attached to the bottoms of the 4x4's during assembly and then removed. Since I added extra height I cut four of those temporary pieces and I still put them at the 6 foot mark and made them permanent to provide extra support for the longer legs. This is a very easy modification to do if you're looking to add some height. The directions were otherwise pretty simple to follow and the only trouble I really had was getting that second cross beam to bend while also trying to screw it down. All in all it was a pretty easy build that just took an afternoon on a weekend to do. The windmill head itself went together pretty well. I wasn't a huge fan of having to use self-tapping screws as it could be a challenge to keep the screw and drill steady on the mark and the blade stable at the same time. Other than the self-tapping screws the rest of the process was pretty simple and not at all difficult to do. I will say though that the windmill definitely needs a bit of a stronger wind than a typical hardware store model to get it moving. Once it's going it goes pretty well, but if your winds are under 8 or 9 mph don't expect to see much, especially if the winds aren't consistent.
