Gamma Ray Computer Blue Light Blocking Gaming Glasses w/Amber Tint and Anti Glare UV Digital Eyestrain

Arrived early. Hard case included. I SERIOUSLY love these reading glasses. I’ve only been wearing reading glasses for about a year. After being gullible and spending $400 on my first pair of “prescription” glasses, I finally realized my “prescription” was only magnification. For which inexpensive “readers” work fine. So I spent several months trying out random cheap readers from Amazon or Readers.com. After buying about 30 different pairs of mostly crappily made, poorly fitting glasses ranging from $2-$150 a pair, these are BY FAR my favorites. YAY! Finally.Just so we are talking about the same product: I ordered the "Gamma Ray Flexlite GR OR-003 Computer Readers, Shatterproof Memory Flex Anti UV, AntiBlueRay, AntiGlare,Scratch Resist Lens,+1.25 Power" They are very light weight and comfortable.I am an acupuncturist, so my vision is essential, when not working with patients, I sit in front of the computer or read a lot of paperwork and journals. For the first time I feel like I found a pair that can do it all. The wide depth of field allows me to easily read the patient’s chart (close up) and yet also see my patients clearly during the intake conversation (4-6 ft away).The non-glare coating is especially excellent and appreciated when I do video conference calls. On video calls I am often sitting in front of my computer if I have typical reading glasses on (with out an anti-glare coating), other folks on the call can't see my eyes at all due to glare off my computer screen, but with these glasses, my facial expressions come through much better, and I think that improves the nonverbal communication. Which is a big reason for having the video component of these conference calls. The lenses have a VERY slight tint to them, a warm amber tone, which I assume cuts some of the blue wavelengths of the white light spectrum. I don’t think the tint is generally noticeable tint to others. And I don’t really feel like it distorts the color of things I am looking at (maybe warms up tones a bit, but not in a distortional way). To others, doesn’t look like I am wearing sunglasses. I do feel like these glasses reduce eye fatigue, especially when working on the computer. I am so glad I tried these! They are really a god send.The only draw back is that the arms are a bit long for my head and if I have been wearing the glasses for a really long time like 12+ hours, I have noticed I feel some pressure points over my ears. But it’s very minor, and it hasn’t detracted from me still rating them as my favorite glasses so far.

I ended up looking for computer glasses because my eye fatigue was so bad, I could no longer read. I program for a living and spend most of my free time in front of a screen, so you can see how this might eventually become a problem after a couple years. My eyes were constantly red and dry and sad and my vision was just quitting on me. I decided to try these first instead of ones from a more expensive place because I could always return these if I hated them.But I love them!! They took about 2 weeks for me to get used to them in total. After only one whole day, my eye fatigue was remarkably better, and after three days my eyes seemed to be normal again. The first few days, taking off the glasses did give me an instant headache if my eyes were open, so I started closing my eyes before and during taking them off, and that seemed to work. I've had these now for a couple months and don't usually work without them.They do make the world a bit yellower (duh) and also make your eyes and skin behind the glasses look yellower (also duh) but this is totally work the benefits. I've included two pics (selfies, sorry) with different lighting so you can see the blue reflection in one and the yellow-y look if the skin/eyes in the other.I was also surprised how nothorrible I looked in these. It normally takes me trying on 52 pairs of sunglasses before I find a pair I don't look stupid in, but these look surprisingly great. I completely recommend!

I suffer from a brain disease, known as Arnold-Chiari Malformation Type 1. This causes increasing pressure on the brain stem, which results in a numerous amount of symptoms including, dizziness, migraines, numbness, untreatable vision problems, like not being able to see correctly even though your vision is coming back near perfect, and constant "floaters". Time and time again, by doctor after doctor, I am told there is no treatment for these symptoms. These glasses are the only thing that I have found to help control the severity of my headaches and vision problems. I am waiting for decompression surgery of the brain next month, and the helpfulness of wearing these glasses is making the wait easier. I work in an environment with an extreme amount of LED and fluorescent bulbs, which flare my condition and symptoms to unbareable amounts. I've noticed a huge difference since wearing these, and because I work in fashion, these make me look and feel less self conscious because they're actually cute. Others I've seen are just so noticeable yellow or rose tinted, these you can hardly notice. I greatly recommend this product. The only reason for not giving it a 5-star rating, is because, when I was driving home from work one evening, the headlights of passing cars had a blue spot around each one that was very distracting. The effect becomes worse during rainy travels. But other than that, they are wonderful!!

Sorry.Joking aside, I've been working with technology for over 15 years professionally (more than twice that if you count before that) and look at all manner of monitors, displays, TV's, tablets - well you get the picture. (There's another pun!). As someone who doesn't have bad vision but rather quite the opposite, I have no need for corrective vision. I've got to eye doctor's looking, practically begging to get some kind of filtered non-corrective glasses to reduce eye strain and been laughed or scolded out of everyone's office. No one took me seriously.As I've gotten older, my eyesight still has not degenerated but my endurance for looking at technological devices has. A couple of years ago I saw the Gunnar glasses and thought these might do good but at the price they are at, I didn't want to try them. Plus, I have a large head. It's not obscenely large but most sun glasses will give me headaches because of the pressure. I have a couple pairs of Oakley's that I had custom made (from their custom shop) to fit my head and they work great. To me Oakley's are worth the money.So recently, my eye endurance if you will, has been somewhat painful to deal with so I figured I'd buy a pair of Gunnars and just hope that they would fit. But after looking, I came across the Gamma Ray brand and saw that the frames are able to twist and bend and go all over the place. THESE probably would fit my noggin! And guess what, the price is 3 times cheaper than Gunnar's! While there aren't as many styles to choose from like Gunnar, I figured I would see what they were like (another pun!).So far, so awesome! They fit like a dream and there is no distortion or aberration across the light spectrum (besides the tint of course). My eyes grew accustomed to the tint rather quickly and as a on demand photographer in my spare time, images don't appear to be much affected at all. I'm technical enough to know that it will affect my photos some but I'm not a stickler for match grade color processing.As far as the eye strain? My eyes feel really nice and cool, not irritated and burning. I'll post an update after a week or so to give a torture test review of how well they hold up but so far, well worth the money.If you like my review, checks out some of my others!Thanks for reading!

I bought these glasses for my fiance. She went to the eye doctor and she recommended some anti-glare blue light filter glasses. I had never heard of them before so I told her to just get the cheapest reasonable pair. She ended up picking a set on the cheaper end for $300. I was curious to how reasonable that was so I looked on Amazon and they had a huge selection of them ranging from $10-$40. I had her call the eye doctor to see if there was something special about their glasses that i was missing and the receptionist said that what you're paying for if you get them from them is a set with customized measurements for your face. I decided that probably wasn't worth it and to give these ones a try before shoveling out the big bucks for the custom measured set.... So glad I went that route. These glasses fit perfectly on her, they are light weight so you barely notice they are there and they significantly reduced the strain on her eyes. She liked them so much she showed them off in the office and I had to send her the link cause all her coworkers wanted them. I must admit based on the picture I was a little worried about how yellow the lenses would be as it stands out quite a bit product photo, but when we got them my worries were put to rest. They are yellow but that's to be expected with blue light filtering glasses at least with these you can hardly notice the yellow lens. I would recommend this to anyone who sits in front of the screen for long periods of time. And to anyone being asked to fork over a pile of cash for custom fit ones, try these out first!

I love these glasses. I recommend them to everyone I know that works on computers all day. When I was ~22 yrs old I realized my right eye was getting weaker than my left eye. I had always had 20-20 vision until then, and was a graphic design student going into the web design / development field, which meant that I NEED to have good vision to be able to do my job for the next 40 years haha.Since I now work in the web design / development field, my initial concern with these was whether this would affect my ability to see colors properly while wearing them. The lenses are tinted of course, so it stands to reason that everything on my screen would be tinted. That's not the case though. The tint is a VERY mild sepia tone, and after wearing the glasses for a couple minutes my eyes adjust and I don't notice it any longer. Over time, my eyes are able to relax from the reduced overall brightness of white pages on my screen. Over a period of a full work day, that's a lot less eye strain. I rarely have sore eyes after work now. If I ever DO think the tint is interfering with how I'm perceiving my screen's color, I simply remove them to get a clearer look, and put them back on after. Easy, and worth the minor minor hassle.The image I uploaded hopefully helps you compare a white page (on Amazon, actually) to what the same page looks like through the lenses. Pardon my quick, ugly Photoshopping haha. I'm aware that the "white" browser page I'm referencing in the image isn't color corrected to ACTUALLY be true white, and is actually a bit gray, but I didn't want to alter the color of the image since it's a pretty good representation of the lighting in my office. Again, after wearing the glasses for a few minutes, I do NOT notice the tinting of the lenses.I recommend everyone who works on a computer uses these. Not just for computer screen brightness, but also for harsh office lights. I use a soft light desk lamp in my office to reduce harsh overhead office lighting, but these glasses help further the reduction of harshness. Walking around the office area with these on is comfortable and unobtrusive, and my girlfriend actually tells me these look better on me than corrective lenses I got from my eye doctor (referring back to my weaker right eye).For less than $25 you really can't go wrong. Your eyes are worth it.

If you're like me, you're probably wondering whether these glasses really do anything they claim. I was looking into these because I spend 8-9 hours at a computer for work, then typically go home and play video games for the remainder of the day. Yeah, my eyes were pretty dry and itchy a lot of the time.I've been using these glasses on & off for about a month now. They work better in some places than others. I can only guess that it's due to the lighting. Fortunately, my office is the place they seem to work the best. I didn't notice until after I'd been wearing these a while, and then took them off, exactly how harsh our office lighting is. So, I can tell you that they do work - but don't expect a miracle. My eyes aren't noticeably less red, but they HAVE been less dry and less itchy. Enough so that I'm thankful for these glasses.That said, these are one-size-fits-most glasses. They're a bit tight on my face - enough to occasionally give me headaches and leave marks on the bridge of my nose. So if you have a larger head, you may want to avoid.If you're interested in these kinds of glasses, my overall recommendation is to start here - they're cheap and functional, if a little uncomfortable. Then, when you've established whether they'll work for your situation, look into a more customized solution.

Very glad I bought these. They work really well perfect for day or night computer work.

As I am spending some hours in from of the laptop, I've decided to buy this Gamma Ray Glasses.

These glasses were a God send! I got these to combat Post Concussion Syndrome headaches after 10 months of recovery, it has been the first thing to really help me. I wear them all the time while I am awake. They are aesthetically pleasing enough that I can wear them in public without people noticing (the Gunnar glasses were way to big for my face and too yellow for me to see myself wear out of the house, without having the urge to sing Elton John's Tiny Dancer). I have been unable to work for 10 months and now I have been approved to return to work as long as I wear these glasses. So thank you Gamma Ray Optics for a great product.
