Sony Vertical Grip for Alpha 7R IV - VG-C4EM

Another great Sony product. I bought this for my Sony a7v and it’s really been a great addition. This did not come with any batteries so plan accordingly. When I shoot with a larger lens, this really helps balancing the rig out in my opinion. No instructions are included, but you need to remove the battery door on the camera body for using. The door has a spring that you can pinch and remove easily.

There are aftermarket options, but none seem to have the button feel and comfort of the Sony grip. I've owned aftermarket grips in the past, but decided to bite the bullet on this one and try the Sony. I felt my wallet put out both of its arms to try to prevent being pulled from my pocket, but after a little convincing - "It'll be ok." - I'm glad I did. This grip is comfortable, and the buttons are tactile as they are intended to be. The grip does what it does, improves ergonomics, balances the camera with longer lenses, and provides power at the ready for my A7RV/A7R5. I'd buy it again. Start stacking up those pennies.

I looked at several non-OEM grips, including one "live" on a friends camera. I'm sure some of them are great. But this is one of those camera parts that (for me) is going to get used all the time. It is always on the camera, being subjected to whatever I'm putting the camera through. To me, it isn't a place to skimp. Obviously the OEM part fits exactly as it should, and functions exactly as it is supposed to. Except for the price, there really isn't anything to complain about. It's unfortunate that Sony feels like they need to charge so much for this accessory - it has to be 60%+ profit at this price - but they know it's essential for many of us so they get away with it.

Definitely a must have! You won't regret it. Oem quality is always the best. Your sure you'll always be taken care of specially with well higher end brands like SONY.

The Sony VG-C4EM is one of those accessories that instantly makes the camera feel even more professional. The build quality is exceptional, matching the camera body perfectly with a solid magnesium alloy construction and excellent weather sealing. It feels like it was meant to be there because it was. The vertical controls are thoughtfully placed and mirror the camera’s layout, making portrait shooting much more comfortable and natural. Holding two NP-FZ100 batteries also means significantly longer shooting sessions, which is a huge advantage for events, weddings, wildlife, or long days behind the camera. The added grip makes heavier lenses feel better balanced and reduces hand fatigue during extended use. My only criticism is the price. It seems to be a like expensive for a battery grip, even though the quality is undeniably top tier. If you’re looking for the best fit, finish, and performance for your Sony camera, this grip delivers in every way. Just be prepared for a little sticker shock.

?Overpriced? but it's nicely built and feels great in hand. If you've just spent 3k on an A7r IV then this is a great add-on for it. I've only used it once, but it felt like second nature as soon as I used it. I thought about returning it as I don't need it very often, but after unboxing and installing it. I knew I had to keep it after just a couple of minutes of playing around with it. Another fine product at another typical Sony price point.

Let's face it. You could buy a third party grip for your expensive camera, but if like me you want the best then this is it. It adds a perfect size to the camera and feels great in the hands. It integrates perfectly with your Sony camera.

Always buy OEM SONY when it comes to this stuff!
