I have a mac book pro can i use this device to connect 2 monitors individually? extended not clone display

Yes. This product supports 2 extended displays from a MacBook. I had this setup. Note of caution: Two external displays (basic Dells, not even 4K) and a 1TB external drive caused performance speed and significant battery drain. With all three plugged in, it could take 10-30 minutes for my MacBook (purchased new in 2020) to boot up. At one point, with 2 monitors and a USB drive, my MacBook would not boot up at all! Apple Support confirmed the hub and peripherals drained so much power, the MacBook could not boot up with everything plugged in.

Can I connect 2 laptops, one connected to the monitor and usb keybord+mouse combo and the additional laptop just to power up from here?

I bought this to connect my laptop to some monitors. My laptop only has USB-C input. It worked with that so I assume it would work with a desktop as well.
