Reolink Camera Installation
A great add on camera for internal home monitoring. Easy to add to the Reolink APP. I now have installed 6 cameras with two of them being outdoors. The App allows many more cameras to be installed if desired.

No true privacy mode, app UI not friendly
I bought these is bc my TP Link cameras won't work with 5G, and these work with both 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz.I'm including 3 components in my overall rating: a) ease of setup & video/picture quality (4 stars), b) CS (5 stars+), c) app UI (2). Therefore, my overall rating is 4 stars. My main issue is there's no true privacy mode built into the app. Their "privacy mask" isn't easy to find either. You first have to click on 'display' in order to see the option (why put it there instead of its own one-click link on the menu?). What's more, the 'mask' is a big pain to use. Every single time u want to use this feature, u have to draw a box(es) to essentially block out the screen, and once u exit mask mode, it won't save the settings or preferences. It's time consuming, and hard to determine if the camera is still recording audio and other parts of the view not blocked by the mask.Reolink does appear to have other models that have a true privacy mode setting, but this set I got from Amazon (version: IPC_566SD54MP), isn't currently supported. Their literature does claim they're "evaluating" my model # (and a few others) to potentially add it with a future app update.Video quality is good and sensitivity settings have a wide range. There are a few other features that allow u to customize your experience, like min/max size of people, animals u don't want detected, ability to set it to record certain time periods, etc.Overall, however, I'm not a fan of the app layout bc I don't think it's as user friendly as it could be. For instance, u can't delete recordings directly from the app, u have to wipe them from the memory card, which takes more time and effort bc it requires removing it from the camera and using other equipment to erase the files. If there's a way to program the app to delete recordings from a memory card, I haven't figured it out yet.Originally, I planned on returning these. However, after figuring out a way around the privacy "mask," and bc of Reolink's phenomenal CS team, I'm going to keep them. Sadly, there are very few options out there for cameras w/o monthly fees/subscription that also work with 5G. I believe these Reolink E1 Pro cameras are the best choice between the other limited options currently on the market.Unlike other unscrupulous companies out there, Reolink makes *all* features of the camera available in the app, with no additional monthly/subscription, fees. Beware of the many other security camera companies, however, that advertise "no monthly subscription" where, in the fine print/description details, you learn they restrict access to certain functions/features without paying (monthly) to access them, basically rendering the cameras useless. Reolink won't do that to you, and that's one of the several reasons I'm now a customer for life. They've taken my feedback regarding the app seriously and I hope someday to see the evidence of that in future app updates/releases.Bottom line: I would get this model camera again. Even though I did hours of research on indoor security cameras, I didn't research Reolink enough to learn I might've been able to purchase a different model with more features, which would change the app UI, at least slightly. Now that I've learned a workaround to the privacy mask setting, I get the equivalent of privacy mode, it just takes several more steps than should be necessary (not convenient, but it works and is easy to do). One of my suggestions was to create a one-click (2 clicks realistically) option to select privacy mode, then click to turn it on/off (which doesn't exist for the E1 Pro model I purchased through Amazon here).Get these cameras, you won't be sorry, and Reolink CS will be right beside u for support and troubleshooting.

I highly recommend the E1 Pro for your home security.
This model includes ethernet, 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi connectivity options. I highly recommend this as a baseline for any home security. I plan to slowly replace all of my 2.4 Ghz E1 cameras with E1 Pro.

Great Cameras, Fast Shipper, Reasonable Price
I now have seven of these and they are quite efficient and reliable. I have a wife with dementia and while I work in the office, the yard, etc., I need to keep an eye on her. These are a great addition to those efforts.Highly recommended.

Frequently drops Wi-Fi connection
I bought this because the HomeAssistant subreddit seemed to heavily recommend this brand. I made sure the get a model that supports RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) based on the comments. To set it up, you have to plug it in to both power and ethernet. Once it's connected to ethernet, you'll have to use a Reolink app to set a new password for each device, set your Wi-Fi, etc.Unplug it from the ethernet when you're done and you're supposed to have a functional camera. Supposed to. I can't tell you how much I fought with this just to make it work somewhat consistently. The Wi-Fi is incredibly sensitive to obstructions, using both 5GHz and 2.4GHz. One camera kept disconnecting and rebooting. I thought maybe it had to do with me using older Micro SD cards that I had lying around. I put brand new ones in and that wasn't the solution. Whenever I tried to connect to it, it would lose connection and reboot. I guess there were too many things between the camera and the router because when I connected it to ethernet, it resolved a lot of the issues.Relying on ethernet is a poor solution. The appeal of Wi-Fi cameras is not needing to run a cable to connect them to your network. I was just trying to watch a video that was recorded on the camera that is still on Wi-Fi and doing so caused the camera to crash and reboot. One of the first things I did with these is update the firmware. I had to manually download the firmware from Reolink's website and install it because the cameras said they were up to date when they weren't.I do like the fact that these can operate completely within my network and doesn't need a cloud account or subscription to work, but if I get more cameras, I'll definitely be doing more research to see what brand has both privacy AND functionality.
