Finally a true Vita replacement
I was ecstatic when the first switch was announced two years ago. I've always loved the feeling of gaming on a handheld device, having grown up with the Gameboy, Gameboy color and Gameboy advance. Years later the PSP and Vita garnered my attention. Console gaming on a TV has its place, as does gaming on a PC. However, there is something that just feels more intimate about a handheld device you can play while sitting on the couch in a relaxed position. Or even more being able to take the experience with you and combat the total boredom of a three hour layover at the airport, followed by another half day in a cramped airplane. I had a switch since it's initial release and while it offered a good experience as a handheld it still lacked something compared to the Gameboy and Playstation devices. Breath of the wild on the go felt like a step in the right direction. But I feel as if the steps were impacted by heavy boots, an awkward and somewhat uncomfortable delivery for the experience. I'm not saying that the switch was a bad design but it was far from ideal given my expectations. Over the past two years my switch never went into the dock to display on my TV, it resigned to a dedicated handheld that eventually lapsed into a distraction only to be used while traveling. The awkward flex of the joycons mixed with the weight and size of the switch let me down a little. But for occasional use I could see past the flaws. Now, onto the switch lite. Immediately after unboxing and holding the device I could tell that this is what I had wanted in the switch two years ago. The weight is well balanced as my hands sit naturally onto the controls and there is no flex when gripping firmly. It's reminiscent of the Vita in all of the best ways. Only this time there's a game library that provides adequate variety. My first impressions could be tainted by the paired release of Link's Awakening, which is wonderful I might add. Finally, I found myself fully engulfed in gaming on the switch. It was like reliving my childhood, spending hours with my Gameboy in my grasp on the very same title. As expected, my hands didn't cramp after a half hour of use like they would with the original switch. The battery held sufficient charge to stay away from the outlet on the other side of my couch for hours on end as well. In my eyes it is perfect in every possibly way as a dedicated handheld gaming console. At last I'm content to finally have a true Vita replacement.

Awesome gaming system that brings back the classics along with new games and great parental controls
Great system that allows you to play multiple games from game boy, Sega genesis, Super Nintendo etc. It's a great size for transport and easy to carry for kids and adults alike. The color display is great on it and it's faster on speed than I thought it would be and does very well. The parental controls are so much easier to configure and being able to keep up with playtime with monthly reports is very nice for keeping an eye on screen time for the kids so they are stuck in front of a screen all the time. Great system to have for those long travel times when on the road.

An immersive gaming experience
The photos don’t do it justice. I grew up with Gameboy and super Mario games. I’m also PlayStation fan boy by heart and last time I had Nintendo was the original Wii which I still have. I decided to buy the Gray - Switch Lite since they announced Paper Mario (and rumored Super Mario Galaxy). Nintendo made a smart move by following the trend of remakes because I played these games from night until dawn in elementary school; I am 24 now. I’m so happy I bought the switch lite for its great value. This console is truly pushing the limits to current technology to its maximum. The screen is crystal clear while never compromising the vivid colors and games’ unique styles exclusively on switch & cross platform games. During PS4, I became a huge indie game lover. The second my switch lite came, binge bought a bunch of great games under 9$ with real deals on gems of up to 90% off. My first switch game to buy and play is Planet Alpha (originally 20$ bought for 3.50$) and it’s perfect indie game that truly makes you understand the design of switch lite with comfort and ease; and again never comprising beauty exclusive switch game. The sense of ease and the light portability of the console that does not compromise the beauty of games full immerses you into a personal gaming experience that’s fun at any given moment. I also bought Overwatch on switch, which is also my go to on PS, to try and test my comfort level since I haven’t really played a handheld device in years. Overwatch is a great game to test the comfort on the switch lite because the game utilizes every button on the controller and in a fast paced. After a while it does feel a bit cramped but after adjusting the sensitivity you grow accustomed. OW surprised me so much and it is mind boggling to how they were able to compress the game onto this amazing console. Overall, I am satisfied and excited to spend years exploring the vast and diverse Nintendo library. This console is extremely worth it so far. No doubt Nintendo hit the nail on this console.

I love the Nintendo Switch Lite. It's like a super Nintendo 3DS, but sadly lacking backwards compatibility, but I understand why they left it out. Would be hard to display 2 screens on the switch screen. My issues with the switch are with nintendo. They never discount their first party games (Not that I care as I only own 2 of them haha), their accessories are stupidly overpriced, and their obvious laziness in frame rates in switch games. How is it that Super Mario Odyssey gets 60fps but Fire Emblem Three Houses gets 30 fps? I love Three Houses but frame rate is important, even in a turn based rpg. If you're like me and you don't care much for games like animal crossing, ultimate, and mario odyssey, then you'll get more bang for your buck with this thing. It kinda shocks me how many people bought a switch just for animal crossing...like what? You spent $260 canadian dollars LET ALONE $400+ for a regular switch for ANIMAL CROSSING NEW HORIZIONS? What the hell...anyway I've bought a lot of games for this thing. While I would like higher performance in most of them, I'm content with being able to play these games conveniently on the go. Sure, laptops exist and I have a good gaming laptop for on the go gaming, but a switch allows you to go into a game faster than a laptop. Not because a switch is faster than a gaming pc haha no but it starts at the games menu asap, which is nice. I give the switch a 9/10, but the value fluctuates. A lot of people have gotten ripped off by nintendo here. I haven't, since I've only bought 2 full priced games, those being Three Houses and Breath of the Wild. I'm content with spending a full $80 Canadian plus tax on these games because they've given me hundreds of hours of content, and I have yet to complete both of them. However, when it comes to animal crossing which is stardew valley but shitty framerate and not finished, no thanks. Smash ultimate looks fun but I prefer melee (better game sorry but objective). I know that I've given this thing a lot of ****, but I have lots of praise to give it too. Being able to play Resident Evil 4 on the bus is mind blowing for me. Sure, you could use a laptop but that's less convenient. Bigger machine that you need a mouse/controller for, instead of switch/switch lite where it's all in one small, convenient package. Really cool. I just hate nintendo lol Screw Sword and Shield. Overpriced garbage for hardly anything. Way too easy too never buying it.

Having never owned a single Nintendo console, I was attracted to the Lite in particular solely due to its form-factor: it fills the same niche that a PSP used to fill, and I absolutely adored that handheld as a kid. Having received it, I was blown away by its actual size. This thing is CHONKY, and I have no idea how people even use a normal, full-sized Switch in handheld mode - that'd probably be too much for me. I didn't get it for the Nintendo games (other than BOTW), and I appreciate the effort the game studios put into porting every recent PC hit ever to the Switch as thanks to that I can have about a half of my usual game library on a portable, standalone device (as opposed to, let's say, remote gaming from a phone with a controller hooked up to it) whenever I find myself away from home and having to wait for something. This is a great time killer, and a commuter's dream.

This is, incredibly enough, the first portable console from Nintendo I’ve ever owned, and it is an amazing one. The image quality is better than the PS Vita, which is in itself impressive, but what really brings the Switch lite home is the variety of franchises at Nintendo’s disposal.... MARIO Maker 2, Luigi’s mansion, smash brothers, Zelda, and Xenoblade Chronicles (my personal favourite) just to name a few. If you don’t mind the lack of a docking station to play on the TV, this is a solid console, especially for a $100 cut on the price tag vs the normal switch.
