***Update*** After leaving my original review the vendor contacted me and offered to send a replacement. Unlikely the original battery, when I plugged this in, the phone did start charging immediately. I'm not sure if it will die out early and will post results here. My takeaway is that you can get a bad battery, so if it isn't working contact the vendor for a replacement. Original Post: I already had a good battery pack that worked (HETP version). The problem was the case was completely solid and I was hoping for one I could swap out without risking damaging the phone. Also, the cord for that one kept falling out. This one was much worse. I would wake up in the morning and the phone would be at 30%. What I believe was happening is it would charge the phone and the case, but then once charged it would not charge the phone any more, so overnight all the little pings to the phone would drain it. So this may not be a problem for you if you turn off your phone or don't have as old a phone as mine. However, then it got worse, I woke up one morning and it wouldn't charge and it was very frustrating have a dead phone on my bus ride to work. Anyway, I would highly recommend the other one over this. I'm still giving it two stars because the battery worked well and it might work for others. By the way there seem to be a lot of fake reviews and posts on this. I'm not sure I would believe them all.

I had high hopes this would behave like an external power pack and provide power constantly until it runs out of juice. During my first week, I had several problems with the battery pack that made me regret my purchase, then it suddenly stopped charging my phone at all. Below are my grievances: 1. Connector makes intermittent contact with an external cable. Not a big deal if you are constantly holding the cable on to the power pack or setting it down perfectly, but becomes problematic when actually using the phone while charging 2. Once my internal iPhone battery reached 100%, the battery case would stop providing power, so when streaming videos, I have to constantly tell my battery pack to start charging my phone again, causing extra wear on my phone's internal battery. My external power packs don't exhibit this behavior, and constantly powers my phone when connected. Seems like the battery case has some room for additional design refinement. 3. When plugged into a charging cable, the battery case would only sometimes charge the battery pack while simultaneously charging my phone. I didn't think too much of this since other external power packs don't simultaneously charge and power either, but it seemed like an oversight on a product that doubles as a case. 4. Initially, worked OK with my vehicle's carplay feature, but soon started to lose connection with my vehicle, especially when my phone went from charging to non-charging mode. This tells me that I am not allowed to reliably use the battery case while simultaneously moving data through the cable. 5. Battery case stopped charging my phone at all after 10 days of use. It would take a charge just fine, and went from two charging lights to all four, but would still not power my phone at all. This battery case looks and feels high quality, but a bit bulky and heavy, and would've willingly given up battery capacity to make the case a bit more svelte. As far as functionality, this case has so many quality control problems on a product they had over 4 years to perfect, that I have doubts about it's ability to avoid critical battery failure. You want a product carrying Lithium Ion batteries to be more than "somewhat good quality", and this product completely falls short of even that. I strongly recommend against anybody purchasing this product.

This is an excellent charging case, and it is exactly as described. It held enough charge to charge my phone at least 4x during the day, charges up fine during the night, and it allowed me to get around easily enough for what I needed my phone for. I was thoroughly pleased and very satisfied with the product. Having now owned this product for a full year, I have continued to be delighted by how well it functions. However, in the past 2 weeks, the charging port at the bottom has become more and more difficult to get an adequate connection with the charging pack. It is not the connection between the phone and the case, as the case continues to show issues in charging even without the phone being attached. I have only been able to charge it by putting the phone charger into the port at an exact specific angle, and then taping the cord to the phone case during the night so that it would be able to charge. Even this is not error prone, and I the charger pack has been dying on me during the day, which is a headache. All this to say that this is a great product for up to 1 year, but doesn't have the durability for beyond that time. EDIT: I changed the review to 5 stars, because of their excellent customer service and because they honored a 12-month warranty and replaced the defective case with a brand new one.

Phone case works, it holds a charge and fit the phone very well. I am rough on things, and this protected the phone well. The issue comes from the charging port, it wore out on mine (6s model) and became very loose. It got to the point that it was difficult to charge the case and subsequently the phone. It lasted a few months, before I had to just take the phone out and order something different. Like I said, I am rough on things, but the phone itself still has a very good and firm charging port and I have owned this same phone for several years. it does its job, its just not a forever solution.

I received this battery case for my iPhone 6S as a gift because my battery was draining very quickly. I would have to charge my phone 3-5 times a day or leave it plugged in while using certain apps (FaceTime, Google Maps, etc.). I took it to the Apple store for a quick, free diagnostics test, and they told me that my battery capacity was only charging to 75% at a "full charge." They recommended that I should either replace the battery ($49), which might still drain quickly depending on your iOS, or get a new phone. This battery case was easy to install and came with simple instructions. You just slide the phone down into the charging port, twist the flexible upper corner of the case, and the phone pops into place. I normally charge it overnight, and it usually lasts a full day of normal use. You can continue using your phone while the case is charging. There are 4 indicator lights on the back of the case that show you how much charging power is left in the case. To charge, just hold down the charging button for a few seconds. To stop charging, press the button once. I noticed that each charge uses up 1 of those indicator lights (I usually start charging my phone once it gets down to 20%). The only downside to this case (which is probably true for all battery charging cases) is that it is pretty bulky and heavy. Compared to my old iPhone case, it is probably doubled in size and weight (see pictures). From the front, the case fits flush to the phone. From the side, you'll notice that there is a slight curve and out pouching (where the case's battery sits) and the phone appears twice as thick. Even so, I’d still rather have a bulky, heavy phone with sufficient power and re-charging capabilities than a smaller case without charging functionality. Great gift! I'd recommend it for anyone who doesn't have $1,000 to spare on a new iPhone.

This is a replacement for an external battery for my iPhone I had for at least 5 years. I purchased that one directly from Verizon. The things I like about this one from AMAZON is that it is not as bulky and it does charge well. The issue is that it doesn't keep a charge as long and I have having to re-charge my phone multiple times during the day. As I am working from home right now due to COVID, it is not a problem for now. When the time comes that I return to work and my normal travel schedule, this will be problematic. Bottom Line: good short term solution for me.

The headline says it all. My phone got two full charges from 30% battery levels and there was still juice in the case battery! More PROs: The back and sides of the case have just the right balance of grip and smoothness so it's not slippery but also not difficult to extricate from a pocket. The case definitely adds some girth and heft to the phone (hey, it's a charging case, after all!) but not so it makes the phone uncomfortable or awkward to hold. The case is simple to operate and functions just as it should. Finally, the price is definitely right -- I was a bit leery of buying a charging case at this price point but was quickly impressed by the performance and build quality. Minor CONS: A bit tricky to get the phone in and out of the case until you get the hang of it; heavier than the Mophie charging case I had for my previous iPhone, but Mophie as of this writing only makes charging cases (in the iPhones offerings) for the X and 11 series phones; limited color options -- wish the case came in red to complement my Product Red phone. Nonetheless the freedom from daily stationary charging for a very reasonable price well offsets those downsides, at least for me. Recommended!

(((*Updated 1/9/21* I threw the case out yesterday. It no longer charges. Pretty disappointed. It's evident to me that the case relies on two things in order to charge: 1) the rubber around the lightening port needs to remain tight in order to hold the lightening cable into the slot. 2) If the rubber isn't tight, then the cable moves around and will damage the contacts for the lightening cable and it will slowly (over months) degrade the ability to charge, becoming sporadic, and finally not charge at all. It is a "poor man's answer to the iPhone charging case", but it's not the same. I have an iPhone charging case for my personal phone (the case here was for my work phone), and I've never had this problem. Good luck, wish I wouldn't have spent the money on it. )))The case is fine. It works well. But after a year the contacts in the charging port have become looser and it causes it to be a sporadic connection to the charging cable. I have tried multiple cables and use a can of Air to clean it out periodically of dust etc. The cable does not feel solid in the charging port anymore and I have to fiddle around with it to get it to charge. In essence, it’s become unreliable. I wouldn’t buy it again if I knew that ahead of time. Also, since the case won’t charge easily anymore, the charging power is unreliable too. Bad design.
