I bought mine on sale from Columbia employee store in Beaverton, Oregon. I've read unfortunate stories here that some known brand boots had their heels fall off after a couple of months use, something to watch out for before buying. Columbia people assured me that their shoes, including these are not just glued but sewn together which is a great plus. So, this is what is looks like after 2 months of occasional use (average of 4 times a week), boots started to form to the shape of my feet and it is more comfortable compared to the ones I had before. So far it retained the same width since my feet are narrow. The soles are really comfortable even with lengthy walks but I notice a bit of premature wear on the heels, because of the soft rubber or synthetic material used for the soles. This is the reason for 4-stars, but you can't have both durable and comfortable at the same time and always been that way. It is indeed waterproof but I still sprayed rain protector on it just to make sure this survives Oregon weather.
