This can't possibly be leather
I have received two of these, the first one returned on the grounds the it appeared to be plastic. As the second one was exactly the same, I can only assume Amazon either have a duff batch of plastic cases in boxes marked "Leather Cover", or they have used the skin of a creature hitherto unknown to science, the plastic cow. Either way, at £35, it is £30 too expensive.

Expensive price, cheap product
A real step back from earlier covers with a higher price. Avoid.

A step backwards...
The quality of the case is significantly inferior to the one available for the previous generation. It is not as soft, the edges feel rough, even the interior material feels cheaper. Very disappointed for the price, if I hadn't bought from Amazon directly I would have assumed I'd got a cheap fake.Unfortunately, Amazon customer services won't confirm if there are manufacturing issues or if this is the intended quality. I would recommend avoiding, hopefully some third parties can do it better this generation.

Pretty Shoddy
I very seldom have felt the need to complain about an Amazon product, but this new Kindle Paperwhite cover just looks and feels cheap. It is not a patch on the usual covers, also it is quite expensive. They are also sneaky by making the new Kindle slightly smaller, so if you want your Kindle protected you have to buy a new cover. I'm sure it will do the job, but it is very poor.

Cheap & nasty - plastic "feel" & garish colour.
This cover is as total disappointment, especially when compared to the lovely "leather feel" of the cover for my previous generation model of Kindle. If this is leather, then I'm a plastic toy robot. I can only assume that Amazon are cutting costs by purchasing cheap fake products from a third party supplier - in which case, this should be reflected in the price. For £35, I expect something that looks and feels like a quality product. And the colour? I chose red, as Amazon no longer do pink (which is what my previous cover was - but this is a garish, almost fluorescent orangey-red. If I was in the habit of reading while walking or cycling along an unlit road, no doubt it would work very well as "high-vis" - but elsewhere, I am almost ashamed to get my Kindle out

Solid, plastic and doesn't feel of leather
Disappointed with this cover as it doesn't feel like leather at all. In fact, it's like solid plastic and at 118 g, it makes the new kindle feel quite heavy to hold. I was hoping for something lighter and more tactile. This is my first actual kindle (having used the app on my phone and tablets previously) so maybe it's comparable to previous cases. It's just not for me.

This is NOT purple
This cover is blue and not indigo purple as advertised. Quite disappointed it didn’t even have a tinge of purple in it.I expected it to be purplish since “purple” was in the title. Good quality cover otherwise.

Not happy but threw away packaging
Agree with the other reviews, the colour is disappointing (I wanted Green like my old Kindle cover - why is there no green option??) and it neither looks, feels or smells like leather.I kept it because it fits well and its light and I threw away the packaging (because I was in a hurry to use my Kindle). I had a Kindle Keyboard which was still working perfectly but i've recently lost it. Already i'm having problems waking this 10th gen device - having used it briefly it seems to be flat - it does not bode well....
