Park Tool CCP-22 Crank Puller

I've had a few crank pullers before this one and this one is simply the best. The threads are cut deep and pronounced, unlike the cheaper ones I've had. This ensures that the crank arms don't strip. I've had others with poorly cut threads. Then you start to add torque that will rip out the threads leaving the crank stuck on the spindle... Total horror shows you remove after that. Cheaper versions Also require an additional wrench or ratchet to turn the center. This tool has a lever built in which is convenient and gives you a solid connection instead of a wrench that can slip off. The crazy thing is this tool is not very expensive compared to the lower-quality ones. For a few bucks more you get a quality tool that works every time instead of one that can damage your crank causing more effort and expense to replace than the few bucks you saved buying the cheaper tool. Park Tool is usually more expensive than competing products and if you don't fix bikes every day then you may not get much return on your investment, but this tool is so well made, practical, and affordable that it just makes sense to get it over others.

Decided to spend my off-season revamping my bike. Chose to save money and buy a cheap kit with several tools, including a crank puller. Big mistake! It was junk. When I tried to use it, it completely stripped the threads out of my non-drive side crank arm. After spending days trying to get it off, I finally resorted to a hacksaw. Thankfully, I was already replacing the crankset and bottom bracket, but it would have been nice to have my old parts as spares. Anyway, I ordered this item and abandoned the project until it came in, which only took a day. First time I used it, it was so easy, I first thought I broke something else. But no, it just worked. Simply. Easily. I see others complaining that it’s too short to get good leverage. I did not have that problem, and my upper body strength is crap from two surgically repaired arms from the bike wreck that ended my 2019 season (broken left arm, torn rotator cuff and biceps in right arm). My point is, save yourself all the hassle I dealt with and just buy this. It’s well made and won’t tear up your bike. Park Tools has a new customer for life.

This tool worked great to help get a crank arm off my bicycle axel. Easy to use, and fit very well. I recommend you check out their helpful videos on YouTube to get a better understanding of how to use the item, and how to insure you're buying the right kind of tool. Apparently there are different sizes for different manufacturers, and the videos helped a lot. No instructions come with the tool, thus the videos were key for a rookie like myself. I needed to use a lot of force to get the crank initially loosened from the axel. So the excellent thread machining in this tool was appreciated. In short, I highly recommend using a jackscrew device like this to get the crank off your bicycle axel.

Heavy duty made worked great

My bottom bracket became jammed up after one of the sealed bearing cup holders failed and wrapped itself around the axle. I was always intimidated by doing any sort of bottom bracket work on my bike but considering my cheap Walmart bike was purchased specifically so I could familiarize myself with bike repairs, (which are definitely bound to happen with a walmart bike) I purchased this, faced my fears and got to work. I thought for sure the threads would be trashed and it would be a whole ordeal, however the job was MUCH easier than I ever thought it would be and I was able to successfully take the crank arms off with the CCP 22, pull apart the bottom bracket, repack/regrease and put everything back together again (replaced with loose bearings). The Park Tool CCP 22 seems as durable and of as high of quality as all of the other park tool products. However I think when it comes to tough, overly stubborn cranks/bbs, even the highest quality BB tool might not be able to get the job done, which seems to be the category that some of the negative reviews posted here fall into. In which case, you have to get creative to get that thing apart. Personally I couldn't recommend this product enough.

Funciona a la perfección, pero tb lo cobran

Exactly what I needed to replace the crankset on my Daughter's bike. Solid and well made tool, with nice threads and decent leverage. Super easy to use -fitted perfectly and made the job a breeze. I also think it was good value for money. Might not need it that often, but I couldn't do the job without it. Would recommend it if you find you need one.
