Roman Farm Management: The Treatises of Cato and Varro Paperback – August 2, 2007

Not much to be said about a classic of a couple of thousand years standing, who am I to judge? But it is enlightening to compare this ancient lore with the "modern" trends of alternative agriculture- permaculture etc., "nothing new under the sun".But the concept of reprinting on order is genial and the execution excellent. My only wish is that the print type were a little darker.Cheers, Thomas

A wonderful insight into early farming practices. I thought I would be bored reading it, but actually found the subject quite interesting. The book taught me an awful lot about farming and, perhaps more importantly, how Roman culture related to farming. The fact the book is free makes it amazing.
