Good for people with vision problems like legally blind.
This is great. I am legally blind and cannot see well. While I carry a pocket magnifier to read small things like a price tag or menu, I have a problem seeing sings like at home depot, I ask where the hammer's are. the clerk say in row 12. Well the number 12 is up high and I cannot see. Well now I can with the monocular. Also at the bus stop when the bus pulls up I can very easily with one hand hide the whole monocular and quickly focus and see it is bus 53. Before, I would not be able to see things like these.

Great item for older persons with disabilities
My mother who is paralyzed can use it one handed and she loves it for birdwatching. Great item for older persons with disabilities.

Great 8x25!
I have compared this to my other mono's and bi's. This 8x25 is right on. Very clear. The one handed ability is great especially if your hands are full with gear, hiking stick or firearm. Its so light & compact for us ounce conscious pack packers. Easy to use. Not a heavy duty tool, hence its lightness. Take care of it and you will be happy.

I took one of these (Identical to Dakota brand) with me and LOVED IT!
Back in 2000, I walked Colin Fletcher's 1000 Mile Summer through eastern California. I took one of these (Identical to Dakota brand) with me and LOVED IT!!! I finally stepped on it in the dark thereby needing a replacement. I found this to be better than the other because it has a rubberized body which should help with the grip. Should it fail me I will redo my review, but for now.... it's GREAT. Thanks Santa.

Not for hunting
This is the second one of these I have purchased. I use it to turkey hunt with and that is why I need the one handed operation. The down side is that it is not sealed so dirt and grit gets into the unit around the rocker on top. Would be ok for ball games and stuff but will not hold up in the woods in your vest pocket. I thought for the money and what I use it for I would try it again but it is already getting trash in it.

4 years of use for $20...
It was useful while it lasted. One day I picked it up to use it and I couldn't see through it. I looks like the elements inside the monocular are out of alignment. It's best feature was the ability to use and focus it with one hand. I'm debating whether or not to spend another $20.

Excellent Image Quality and Convenience
I have had my Carson monocular for several years and I like it very much. The image is bright and clear. The one hand lever focusing is very convenient and works smoothly. Other monoculars are perhaps as good in image quality but do not have the quick focusing capability of this one. Definitely a bargain for the price.

Wow shocked at lack of quality to price it's a toy for children and a poor one at that...
Very, very poor quality in every regard..see that front seam clearly visible in the picture it flexes open on first handling, it's so small barely fitting in my woman's palm and hence awkward to use. The optics are a non starter could not be better than a child's "spy scope" wondering at the rest of the positive reviews...returned within minutes...

One handed focus
Works as stated. Great little device. Can see detail on far off objects were before it was all a blur.

Easy to use.
Works exactly as advertised. Easy to focus. Sight picture when focused is very clear. Focus down to around 3metres away. Lightweight and seems to be of fairly robust build quality.

Toy, not for serious user
Less than useful, bought this thru Amazon.in, spent all of 5 minutes with these binoculars and gave it to a kid to play with....magnification is a joke and this item should be sold as a toy
