Believe Me, Goldilocks Rocks!: The Story of the Three Bears as Told by Baby Bear (The Other Side of the Story)

Purchased this as part of our Read Across America day since the the Kindergarten teacher I was working with at the time agreed we'd dress up at Goldilocks and Mama Bear. This is a fractured fairytale which is fun to read. Read the original version and discuss and then read the fractured fairytale the following day and discuss how they are different and the same. Great way to start introducing forms of writing to the littles.

This is a great fractured fairy tale of Goldilocks and the bears, as told by Baby Bear. Oh, excuse me, by Sam. (Read it, you'll understand.) Very fun. It is a bit on the long side for a Storytime at a library I think, but it could work. I think reading it together, snuggled up on a bed that is "just right" is the best way to share it.

I stumbled upon this book, which led to my needing to own the entire series. What a fun way to explain point of view to children! Same story, different perspectives! The stories themselves are a riot, with such funny modern twists, and the illustrations are engaging and very well done. I cannot recommend these books enough, especially for kids with autism or other struggles with seeing two sides to every story.

Liked the funny parts of the story. Read to a 5 & 2 year old.

My 3 yeard daughter just started to read to us instead os us reading to her. I was really suprised how much of this book she had memorized after owning it for 6 months. We don't have the original Goldilocks book or movie, so she's not familiar w/ that tale, but was able to really pick up this story more so then the other books of this type. She got the cell phone reference, she's not allowed to jump on the bed either, so it really works for her.

We wanted to like this book since we really enjoy different versions of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This book has a strong message of sneakiness, keeping secrets, and purposely deceiving parents. We found it pretty problematic and not a great message to relay to young kids.

Great book. A little different. I use as many versions as I can find with first grader They love them!

Great book for the kids modernizing the old story and this version gives a different perspective to the timeless story.

Wonderful book, lovely story and brilliant illustrations thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, all 3 of my small children loved the story

It was easy to get this one after getting the others and it wasn't a disappointment. The kids really liked it as a story and it was another fun read. It poses questions in the back of the book to get the kids thinking too which is really nice!
