Don't worry too much about the length
I'm new to Di2 and purchased this as part of adding the wireless unit. The recommendation is to buy the shortest cable available, but I couldn't find it anywhere. This worked just fine. At least on my bike, there is plenty of room to stash the little bit of extra cable that I ended up with. This is a nicely made cable, albeit a bit expensive for what you get. But that's the nature of specialty cables. Get over it and enjoy the ride!

Great Length to attach to a Shimano Di2 D-Fly Wireless Transmitter
Needed extra wire to attach to a Shimano Di2 D-Fly Wireless Transmitter. Worked perfectly. Now my Garmin Edge 1000 and 'talk' to my Di2 device.

Seems to just add Gear Selection?
Bought this thinking it would provide great real-time insight into my DI2. The only thing it really adds is gear position. I don’t need that. My Wahoo already has all the info I needed (speed, rpm, HR, etc). Waste of money for my needs.

So easily damaged, this was a replacement for cable that failed where the cable was terminated at the connector
