Q: How do I alter the volume of the alarm? I set the radio at a reasonable level but when the alarm goes off it is deafening.

When you are inputting your alarm settings (time/station etc) there is the ability to set the volume too. Make sure you press 'select' for each bit.

radio volume all good only down is red display and alot of info with radio to take in can adjust brightness but i just cut a bit of cerial packet so only time showed could also get some coloured paper to alter the time (red colour) . adjust brightnes with snooze button

Q: No power stopped working

Read the troubleshooting section and check your power outlet is working. Also put batteries in the compartment and see if the radio works on this power source.
