Better deal than refried beans I was buying via Aldi & Walmart. Texture & flavor comparable & good. Price was better. Delivery top notch. I will be a repeat buyer at the price.

We’ve bought these beans from Amazon for a couple of years , they are very good. The problem is with the last few shipments the cans are so badly damaged that we can’t open them. I think the problem is definitely with Amazon because my last order of canned tomato sauce was just as damaged.

These are the best beans - or should I say i have not had any better except in a resaurant.

Spicy and fat free are normally positives for me, but this seemed to have a weird, almost bitter or metallic aftertaste, and the consistency was a bit watery. Good enough to eat, but I wouldn't pay top dollar for it. I prefer the traditional of this brand, calories are about the same, taste is better. Somewhat more watery than other brands, however.Update: just tried the (not-spicy) fat free. I hoped it would have the same seasoning as the traditional but they removed most of the seasoning along with the lard. I doctored it to my taste by adding the following per can: 1/2 t cumin, 1/4 t cayenne (omit if you don't like spicy-hot), and 2 t white vinegar. More trouble, of course, but without the "off" flavor I got from the pre-made spicy fat free refried beans.
