Not helpful

I bought this book based on the reviews. Listening to it, the author goes so fast, speaks the whole alphabet once, then all the numbers, then rambles right into consonants, female and male pronouns and just keeps on trucking-this is NOT for beginners, unless you plan to pause the book-literally every five seconds. Way too fast, far too much information. I got nothing from this book. Maybe I'm not very smart, because based on other reviews, other people had luck? I had far more luck with another online program. Je m'appelle Julia, je vais un France. Je suis tout excite.

I am a new French student looking for a practical and simple way to learn French. I love that this book includes a very thorough pronunciation guide to help me know how to speak in French correctly. I also love the grammar and the nice charts to help me figure out which form of the verbs to use in sentences. There are sooo many relevant examples of phrases and vocabulary to use if I ever want to travel to France. Also, I love the idea of including short stories including French and English with questions for comprehension! Wonderful!!! I would highly recommend this book to others who want to learn French!

This book is a great for beginners! I like that it offers how you would pronounce the French words. This book is good if you plan to travel there and want basic statements or questions for traveling in reference to hotels, driving, and etc.

This book is everything a beginner needs to learn French, with a wide range of topics such as camping, going to the doctor and vistiting a hair salon this book is perfect for someone hoping to visit France or even just wishing to learn the language. This book also contains a thorough and understandable pronounciation guide, making it easy to pronounce the words you learn. If you’re thinking about learning French, this book is the place to start.

Is easy, complete, entertaining, and simple to learn .....I would recommend it.....

The overall content of the book was very good; it has an english phonetic spelling of how the word is pronounced. It goes over all of the important tenses. Some of the wording is obviously written by a French american, but This is a great place to start on the journey to speaking fluent french. If you memorize everything in this book I would say you are at a European french level of B1.

This style of learning doesn't really work for me which is why I flunked French at school. Much prefer the phone app Duolingo.

It’s ok

I have high school French from the sixties. Thought it would be an enjoyable pastime to renew my interest and keep my brain active. Like the structure, explanations of the language. It may be hard for real beginners though as I developed a reasonable understanding of grammar. A section on reflexive verbs would be helpful.

I am not 'reading' this book but using it to learn some French. I'm reading it chapter by chapter, and revising at the end of each chapter. So I cannot provide much review yet. For the chapter I've worked on, there was a lot to learn. Unfortunately, it does not come with a free audiobook. So this book is just half as good as it should be. I'm learning the pronunciation somewhere else.

I bought this book to brush up on my French. The book is "ok" nothing impressive, a little vague. I wouldn't buy it again.
