basic elbows that work
My use is in an LP (0-150psi) shop air system. Great for prototyping before sweating 1/2" copper tubing. Keep a couple in my fitting box.

Exactly what I needed
Used this item for hooking a propane hose on an rv. Works great.

Thread fit is important.
This product worked very well, for me, when I added a water separator to my air compressor. The brass looked quality and the thread fit was excellent.

Note they are not allowed for potable water, but seldom would one want 1/4 inch fittings for potable water.

Useful for quick-turn plumbing applications
After receiving our new shower panel system, I felt that a quick 90° turn would provide a better hookup... I didn't want to stress the hoses and fittings that came with the unit. These will do the trick... 1/2" NPT female to male copper.
