This author knows how to simplify his ideas without condescending and without leaving out anything important. Brett Barry has an enjoyable "family documentary" voice and adds just enough of himself to the reading for listeners to know there's a real person speaking to them. His commitment to helping listeners benefit from these lessons is apparent start to finish. this book is a great value. it taught me some of the basics needed to start invested. I have been a dart thrower for years and now I am picking solid stable companies and winning with the stock selections. it also gives you helpful insights on many things I didn't know. like if a stock is down sometimes it is best to buy more rather then sell and it goes through when to sell and when to buy more. I read this book 2 months ago and have had two losing days sense. One of those days was today but that was mainly because of oil prices.

Great for those wanting to learn the basics of stock investing in an easy to understand format.
I listened to the Audible version of this book but found while I learned a lot I could not sit and take notes of important pieces I wanted to remember. SO, I went and purchased a printed copy after so I could quickly reference areas I wanted to. I am an amateur stock investor who has done well 75% of the time but so many terms used in stock investing I had no idea what they meant. This book spells them out in a way that's easy to understand.

Great for starting off
Stock Investing For DummiesI ordered this book because some of my co-workers were constantly talking about stocks, and I not only wanted to understand them, but I wanted to have solid foundation before setting up with a brokerage myself. The book does a good job starting out with simple concepts and including vocabulary that might show up in stock dealings or conversations. It covers pretty much everything you would need to understand the basics of stocks, not really the economics of them, but markets, trends, buying and selling, brokerages, numbers and some financial analysis. While some of the advice was simplistic and redundant at times (buy stocks when they are cheap, who would have thought to do that?), or be wary of losing all your money (well, yeah...), it was good advice nonetheless. Other stuff was quite informative, especially some of the ratios that the author goes on to explain, as well as factors to consider when investing that people may commonly overlook. Overall, a solid introductory book on stocks (but nothing else on say, mutual funds or other securities).

I bought this book and boy was it a good purchase. Keep in mind I hate reading but ...
I should have bought this book before I started investing my money into stocks. I have no business experience and definitely no stock experience for that matter. I went into stocks because I started reading more into online and thought to myself, "Maybe I can make a few bucks". Thankfully, I bought this book and boy was it a good purchase. Keep in mind I hate reading but this book GOT ME HOOKed. Here are some pro and cons for this book.Pros:- It's easy to read and understand- it teaches you the do's and do nots- lightweight, easy to carry around- can prevent horrible investing mistakesCons:- It's definitely not comprehensive

Very informational, and this book would go right along with the Psychological Skullduggery "In a world of manipulation, deceit and ruthlessness is of the norm and all is fair play." By P.Los Because many people are afraid to make that first step, which is having that mind set to invest. P.Los gives reader that great confidence and boost with a attitude to get in the game of business.
