Americas Own-A Celebration of America and its Horses

This is a beautifully put together book, not only for aficionados of the Morgan Horse, but for all breeds. It is also a history lesson for our United States, and I believe would be enjoyed by those who have not necessarily been enamored with the horse, but have a deep love of this Country, it's treasured landscapes and diverse stories. The photo on the cover is breathtaking- I will leave on the top of the stack for a long time.

AMERICA'S OWN calls to mind C. W. Anderson's classic anthologies such as BLACK, BAY, AND CHESTNUT, without either Anderson's artistic or writing ability. Inoffensive, but not a necessary purchase.

I hate to write a bad review, but this book has NO PICTURES!!!! No beautiful Morgan pictures for the stories. The book has wonderful pages and a story for each state but so disappointed there were no pictures. Priced way too high. I would not have bought this book if I knew it had no pictures. The cover is misleading!

Beautiful photography, beautiful stories. Greatly enjoyed the book, and I will treasure it forever.

This book is beautifully written and photographed/illustrated! I just love it and it is in the place of honor on our coffee table....Furthermore, the historical research required to write it is impressive, entertaining, and educational. I thank the writers, editors and publishers of such a valuable classic!

Excellent book on America’s first breed!

You don't have to be a Morgan horse enthusiast to enjoy this book. You learn a bit of history of each and every state as witnessed through the presence of the Morgan breed. Very unique presentation.
