Worked as expected
I have installed very easily version 4.0. Initially it didn't work because I have tightened the screw on the home button. Started working after one more try by losing the screw on top of the button. I am glad to have this part to make my iphone 7 working again.

Works well.
I broke my original one trying to reinstall it back into the screen. I was on the fence on this one, as some reviews said it was just for decoration, while others reviews said it worked fine. Well, its not just for decoration. It does in fact work. No touch ID mind you, but the home button works well. You will just have to put your passcode in a lot. I think why many say it don't work, is that they over tighten the screw that goes directly into the home button. Instructors on IfixIT says you can't over tighten it or it will NOT work. Make sure when you install it, you have the home button in the correct position and don't bend the delicate cable the wrong way. Check out a youtube video. That's how I broke the original one. Sucks. But lesson learned. Never rush it. Do it right.

0% FUNCTIONALITY WHATSOEVER
I have been repairing phones professionally for over 2 years. I have 2 certifications through Washington state. Please listen to me when I tell you NOT to buy this product. I’m not sure if I got a “bad” product or if it doesn’t work entirely. The install itself was very straight forward and simple, would have been great if the button worked though! Has no haptics, no mechanical touch, no Touch ID (obviously) and no response what so ever, unfortunately, I would have loved if it just worked! UPDATED: they sent me another one and it did absolutely nothing just like the first. Don’t waste your time with this product! It doesn’t work. UPDATED: ITS BEEN ONE MONTH AND STILL NO REFUND , SENT PART BACK JUNE 13th! DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Buy this set if you have better tools already
So it happened, my home button was cracked and I tried to find options to replace it. Apple support said it would be $319.99 with full usability of touch id, local repair facility offered $199.99 for the same. Meanwhile used iPhone 7 in top configuration (256 GB, GSM/CDMA) and mint condition costs $189.99 on internet auctions. So even no sense to repair. So I've ordered this set and replaced the button myself. The button works fine, though has a bit higher sensitivity than the stock one. But the set of tools shipped with it are of very low quality, and I even could not complete disassembling my iPhone with these tools. Y-shaped screwdriver just turned into garbage on an attempt to detach corresponding screws, and penta-star one is not in ideal state too. I had to visit local tool store and buy much better set of screwdrivers, then I've completed the process. Important: watch 2-3 different videos on how to replace the button before starting work. It's a bit more complex that shown on the pictures here. Get a set of screwdrivers with magnet heads. Prepare a box where you'd put all that small screws and other parts. I also put some tiny amount of marine-grade silicone sealant around the button so no sweat or dirt from my fingers could find it's way inside the phone when I click the button, but I don't know if this is really critical.

I can't believe it worked
The day after i returned from a 3 month international trip (september 2018), my iphone 7 fell in the river. I recovered it, it turned on, but the home button was destroyed. I couldn't unlock the phone in order to initiate an itunes backup. I thought I was going to lose the photos from the trip forever. Fast forward a year and a half, I saw my old iphone 7 in a drawer and had some renewed interest to try again. I found this product on amazon and thought "why the hell not for $16?" Installation is a little tricky, as it everything Apple related. I'm ecstatic to say that it DID return home button function, so I want able to unlock my phone and pull my old memories off. THANK YOU!

Honest review
I am an experienced phone repairer, I fix phones and make a living doing it. I needed a quick home button for my iPhone 7 and that’s why I am here the home button came in neatly and professionally boxed up so I continued to open it and I seen little differences on the appearance of the button such as the ring that holds the nail not being part of it and it not having glue attached to the wire. Now it’s performance was worse then I expected buying the 4.0 I thought I was buying one close the original home button obviously the Touch ID wouldn’t work but the thing that disturbed me was the fact that it didn’t feel like a button in fact it didn’t even click, i just had to tap not press the home button to work unlike the original which is an actual button. I would recommend it if your fine with the home button having only to be tapped instead of clicked but I failed to see any honest reviews before buying so I thought I would do it myself
