I have installed very easily version 4.0. Initially it didn't work because I have tightened the screw on the home button. Started working after one more try by losing the screw on top of the button. I am glad to have this part to make my iphone 7 working again.

I broke my original one trying to reinstall it back into the screen. I was on the fence on this one, as some reviews said it was just for decoration, while others reviews said it worked fine.Well, its not just for decoration. It does in fact work. No touch ID mind you, but the home button works well. You will just have to put your passcode in a lot.I think why many say it don't work, is that they over tighten the screw that goes directly into the home button. Instructors on IfixIT says you can't over tighten it or it will NOT work.Make sure when you install it, you have the home button in the correct position and don't bend the delicate cable the wrong way. Check out a youtube video. That's how I broke the original one. Sucks. But lesson learned. Never rush it. Do it right.

I installed this knowing that touch ID wouldn't work, but I thought it would let me use the home button again for getting to the home view, switching apps, etc. Unfortunately it didn't. I have an iPhone 7, and after dropping it the touch ID and home button didn't work, and when turning the phone off and on, it would enter an eternal boot loop. Installing this home button appears to have fixed the boot loop problem, which is why I gave 2 stars. Since it it otherwise dead on arrival, it would have been 1 star. I usually try to talk to the company about an issue before leaving a bad review, but that wasn't an option. :PEdit: Less than a week after installing it, the face of the home button fell off exposing the sensors underneath. Changed from 2 start to 1 star.

I installed the new home button in my iPhone 8 a few weeks ago. It’s not a direct 1:1 replacement (especially without the thumb print ID), but it comes very close. Ive noticed it can be temperamental on a rare occasion, but it 100% beats replacing my whole phone or paying Apple to repair it.As for the replacement kit, the Y screwdriver didn’t work at all on 2/4 screws I needed it for. This meant buying a better set of tools for the job (+$14). But in all, I don’t feel like I was really cheated out of much compared again to buying new or paying for a professional replacement. Fingers crossed, I’ll get another year or two out of this and then trade up.

The only issue I have is this. It would have been nice if they stated in the description or put the statement at the top in a larger font saying that this button will not allow the phone to use fingerprint function. Yes, It does state this information at the bottom that the button will not allow it to work. I say this simply because like most people, we get in a hurry and sometimes fail to read everything.The button does work fine for everything else and it's very affordable.

The home button was easy to install but did not fix my iPhone. It turns out it was a was a soft wear issue.

The day after i returned from a 3 month international trip (september 2018), my iphone 7 fell in the river. I recovered it, it turned on, but the home button was destroyed. I couldn't unlock the phone in order to initiate an itunes backup. I thought I was going to lose the photos from the trip forever. Fast forward a year and a half, I saw my old iphone 7 in a drawer and had some renewed interest to try again. I found this product on amazon and thought "why the hell not for $16?" Installation is a little tricky, as it everything Apple related. I'm ecstatic to say that it DID return home button function, so I want able to unlock my phone and pull my old memories off. THANK YOU!
